Be in awe
Ladies and Gents..
We are living in the midst of the greatest football manager the world has ever seen. In 30 years time he'll be revered like Shankley, Clough, Stein and Paisley all rolled into one. There will never be another manager at our club for such a long period, with such an impact and influence on the modern game. He is beyond criticism and has built 4 different teams with some difficult decisions along the way but all these teams have been exciting AND successful. He has achieved what we all thought impossible in 1986 and totally reversed the liverpool domination to the point that they are now almost at 20 years without a league they used to win almost every season. His mistakes have been few and far between and I again say we should be aware that we are in the last few years of the best managers career we are all likely to ever see in our lifetime. Appreciate him cuntos...cause hes nearly done...and we're a lucky lucky bunch of bastards... |

Good post and nail on the head. Think we need a few more chants of 'Every single one of us....." next season!!
I have not known any other manager at Manchester United since I have supported the club so I will be sad to see him go, and I'll be wondering what the hell is to come next as well. Legend, absolute Legend ![]() PS) Would love him to release another autobiography when he packs it all in, not giving everything away but he can gives us more insight in to the club on the back of his other book, transfers, regrets etc. |

Good post.
It's inevitable that people only appreciate true greatness when it's gone but SAF has maintained such an unbelievable standard that even total mongs are starting to notice the blindingly obvious. Best manager ever. Bar none. |

Most fans don't realise what a fantastic period of our club's histry we are currently experiencing.
The last 20 years have been fantastic. The most successful period ever, since the foundation of the club 130 years ago. Most fans take it for granted. They see it as normal. Look at the record goalscorers for Manchester United. 11 of the top 25 goalscorers of the club is from the last 15-20 years. |

We are so lucky to have had this man as our manager for so long.
I am literally bricking it thinking about him leaving. But as long as we get a replacement who knows the values that this club hold i won't be too dissappointed. Hopefully it's not for a while though! P.s my tip is Keano in four years time. |

Funny how people doesn't remember that and claim that Fergie only good because of the money he was given to spent. |

SAF will go down as one of the greatest that's ever been and rightly so. Comes back stronger after every unjustified criticism. Never, ever doubt this man.. Lucky to have him and he is the most important man at United,as he's proven over the past two decades.

Great thread & about time someone (including myself) did the honours - fair play Robbo
![]() Lets just hope Keano turns into the manager we all hope he will, because that man has worked under two great managers in Fergie & Cloughie whom both won the European Cup twice, so they had the know-how, and with the good grace of God Keano will have picked up this know-how too. I'm hoping Fergie hangs on for another 3 seasons to see how Keano progresses with Sunderland. My opinion is that Keano is the closest personality around that is anything near Fergie in terms of character & drive, and if he can prove himself a worthy Premiership manager then i can see no reason why he wont be in line for the job! Keano taking over as United manager would soften the blow for me a little when Sir Alex "Mr Manchester United" Ferguson finally hangs up his tracksuit, but it surely will be a sad day for all of us & especially those of us lucky to be old enough to remember how disorganised aka shit we were, until he arrived & began knocking Liverpool off their fucking perch..... and more recently knocking Chelsea off their fucking perch ![]() When the day finally comes when we overtake Liverpool in Championships & European Cups, we can then proceed to knocking Real Madrid off their fucking perch aswell..... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

For me, Sir Alex Ferguson is Manchester United. He is the only manager ive ever known at the club and long may it continue. I would hate to the man who has to follow immediately in his footsteps because the comparisons will be a little unfair.

Yeah none, it is impossible to break the old firm but Fergie did it. The aberdeen side was high quality though in a time when scotland would produce an awful lot of good players. They also beat a great Madrid side to win Fergies first european silverwear. A remarkable achievment described by Sir Alex himself as "a miricle".
