A lot of our players have to look at themselves in the mirror tomorrow morning and ask themselves how they can so underperform. Most of them choked.

They were trembling in the legs for the first 50 min, stray passes, nervosity, weak challenges all over the pitch.

It is allowed you know.

You wouldn't think twice about criticising anyone else, why the special treatment for Beckham?

O'Shea didn't choke and I've noticed that young players seem to show less fear than older ones, we could've done with some more precocious cockiness out there. We got an away goal, but at the expense of 3? We were tame and docile in the first half - there's no getting away from that.

i did say one or two of our star players not just becks and i picked him out because i realy thought he would perform tonight , after the banter with the rael players saying he was,nt good enougth bla bla bal, the other was roy kean - and sorry i know hes every ones favorite player but- and a big but- i think he,s just lost it -three touches in front of goal! 2 years ago he would have smacked it first time, old age catches us all up

I think it was a case of being totally mesmerised by the way Real were playing in the first half. The teams that we play in the EPL are like a bunch of school boys in comparison to what was on display tonight. No amount of passion can compensate for the fact that there is a tremendous gulf of diffrence between Real and ManU. Most of the players including were just in awe and shocked by Real's passing.

I disagree. Real may has some splendid players in Zidane, Figo, Raul & Ronaldo but the gap between their team collectively & United is not that big IMHO. Tonite many of our players just didn't perform to their true abilities, esp in the first half.

Plus, Captain Keano has just came back from an injury & he's not his usual battling self in term of tackling & maintaining possession.

It could be different when we played like in the 2nd half. Let's hope that they continue to do so in Old Trafford. Then we might still stand a chance to go thru.

I think what's being missed is that Carlos was on his ass the whole match. He did not give Becks a half chance to move around, and unfortunately Carlos is fast and clever enough to stop Beckham. That's why we saw Silvestre and O'Shea with the ball going up left in stead of Becks going right more.

What I found almost weird is Becks and Carlos friendship as it seemed. I know they act in Pepsi commercials together but they fucking hug and apologize to each other all the time Give it a rest till afterwards, shikes

I'm the last person to say that Beckham played crap, but this time I must admit he played absloutely shit. If it was Carlos, nerves, rumours whatever these matches are for big players....Keane played pretty crap as well but I don't blame him, 'cos he's just back from a injury, I thought Butt would get stuck in there but he was playing crap as well...

Dont criticise him.We failed to click as an team thats it So why blame him?Carlos was absolutely superb and he made Beckham non-existent.But when
Carlos became tired after 80 minutes and started to withdraw himself Becks found time and space along the right wing and delivered couple of good crosses.
