The previous season he had a better balance and his performances were better, for me anyway. |

This season he was outstanding but it was all goals, he became a goalscorer but his actual performances were not as good in my opinion. reddevilcanada it seems that quite a few people actually arn't saying Ronaldos season was better than Bests, Charltons or Laws. ![]() |

More people seem to be saying it's Ronaldo than another player though, be it Cantona, Law or Keane, i.e. Ronaldo's gotten more nods than another player has... btw, Striker10 is actually saying that Ronaldo's 07/08 was teh best ever by a United player, so perhaps you need to read a bit more carefully ![]() |

However, last year i think he was a more dangerous player as he tended to run at his man a lot more which is something he did more in the final. Last year, Ronaldo would cause havoc every time he got the ball when he was on form. I'm unsure as to which Ronaldo i'd prefer but he's had 2 fantastic seasons either way. |

Good thread, Keane literally dragged us through so many matches it was amazing. His consistancy is something I havent seen since. Obviously Ronnie gets all the plaudits but for me having someone with Keanes drive and commitment means more to me.

Keane's drive and passion tops Ronaldo,
But I can't deny that he almost single handedly drag us to the 2 title. Say what you like, but cut half of that 42 goals we won't be even in the 4th spot. Guys, he deserves the praise, the worship, he stayed with us during after the world cup incident, and even if he indeed leaves us, he had paid clear all his debt to us. |

Keane in 99-00 was superb, for me he had a better season than the treble. Van Nistelrooy and Scholes in 02-03 also worth a mention.

Gun held at head, best player season for me: Denis '64, bearing in mind I was young and impressionable but he was Britain's first EFotY so must've been pretty good. For me, he'll always be the King. Cocksure of himself and a fighter with huge crowd appeal and a character for good measure. No matter how well Ronaldo plays, and I appreciate his play, I can't like him when he behaves like a brat, which he often does and is doing now and I cringe at his falling over and appealing although I know he doesn't get some decisions from refs that he should but why the fuck doesn't he just get up and on with the game? |

the only moron around here is you, learn to read you muppet, both surf and Sultan reckon Ronaldo's had the better season, and what the fuck are you on about with the maradona comment? I was responding to dipper's spastic comment pointing out that Maradona had never played for United, or are you trying to say that he did, in which case you're the fucking moron.

But i've read a fair bit about Law because he is probably Scotlands greatest ever footballer. Also seen footage of him playing for Scotland against West Germany and he looked outstanding. THis is against THE west germans, beckenbauer and all and Law and Scotland for that matter looked exellent. Fact that him and Best were best mates makes it all the sweeter and is such an important and significant part of the history of United. Ronaldo can score 50goals in a season but he'll never be a united legend like these guys. |

you really have the intellect of a 2 year old. I can "f" it with the best but I suppose you're safe in Canada behind your key board. Have surf and sultan seen 10 years of Best playing for United and di they say Ronaldo was better? I think the guy who brought Maradonna into it is well aware that he didn't play for United but that's beyond the limits of your reasoning. If you can't get the point of what he was saying, I really wonder how you communicate with the world at large. Or maybe you don't. |

![]() I don't know whether surf or Sultan have seen 10 years of Best or not, but that's not really relevant though is it? because the thread isn't about whether Ronaldo was the best ever player in United history, is it about, NOW READ CAREFULLY SO YOU DON'T MISS THIS AS WELL, IT'S ABOUT THE BEST SEASON BY A UNITED PLAYER! Now, both surf and Sultan have seen Bestie's 32 goal season, and that's waht they've compared with Ronaldo's best ever season! It doesn't fucking matter whether they've seeon 10 years of best or not, because there is no question that Ronaldo isn't United's best ever player, he's still only 23 ffs! Now, Since that's how long it's taken for you to understand the point of this thread and the comments in it, I don't think it's fair to put you through another explanation of the comment made by dippersripper about maradona and my response to it. I don't want you to get exposed to intellects of those over 2 years old too much, as you don't seem quite ready for it yet. |

What you sat about Law is true. He seemed to be the fans' cult figure rather than Best or Charlton. |

To be honest, I never seen Best played, but to me this is Ron's season.
Regardless, just because I didn't see Best plays, doesn't make me at fault for saying Ron's wins it. If one can't say Ron's better than Best, what's the point of this thread in the first place? |
