The Big Four
have all dropped points so far and none of them have really impressed. Many of the other teams have improved their squads and are looking good. The Premier League is getting really competitive. There is basically no three points gaurunteed outside the newly promoted teams. I think we could possibly see a new face in fourth spot. You heard it here first. Liverpool are a lengthy injury from Torres away from being a 5th placed team. Arsenal were complete shit without Fabregas so they are in the same boat. We will be just fine and battle with Chelsea to the end.

I don't think they will. Their forward line is not half as good as last year and they have no bite in midfield. Plus their defense is extremely prone to injured. I think 5th is up for grabs for 10 different teams. Spurs sill struggle.

3 games in.
Everyone seems to monumentally overreact every time points are dropped. Everything is going as it should be. Liverpool are mounting their annual September title challenge. Arsenal are causing the press to get hard-ons with an impressive peformance one week at the Emirates and then spaffing points down the toilet away from home. Chelsea are looking like the archetypal strong team. United are doing fine with an unsettled side at the moment. |

Strange.
I was thinking yesterday that the second tier seems to be playing worse. Everton haven't strengthened at all and it seems to be a bit jittery with them wanting to sign big players and no one wanting to come there, Portsmouth and Blackburn haven't been all that so far. Spurs signed a few players and I thought they'd be better with a pre-season under Ramos.. but they haven't been impressive either. Aston Villa are the only team that've been better from what I've seen so far.. |

I would say Pompey/Villa have the best chance to grab 4th this season. But i'd keep a close eye on Wigan and Middlesborough, they seem to be the dark horses this season who might just upset some of the bigger teams.
Everton: Lack of signings have got to the fans and they lack any threat going forward. Blackburn: Inexperienced manager, going to be plenty of ups/downs this season Tottenham: Too many signings mean they'll get a slow start as normal. They'll start coming good mid November. Portsmouth: Started with 2 very tricky ties, they've strengthened in the correct areas, should be pushing 4th all the way this season. Villa: Strengthened depth of squad still lack a quality striker to partner Agbon/Carew. Should be a good season though as a majority of the teams this season can in my opinion take points off the big 4. The quality of the 3rd tier of teams have improved this season, they've deffiantly closed the gap on the 2nd tier. |

First three games played, so lets not get too excited. The top four will be the same then every year, there is no other team who has strong enough squad to compete in Europe, Fa-Cup and in the League. Thats the difference between big four and other teams. And once the top four teams get all the players and match fitness back they will do well and destroy all the other teams.

I can see the dippers in third spot this season, and Arse in fourth place. Hope I'm wrong. Torres is clearly vital to them. A long-term injury to him, however, and they could slip out of the top four.

Pompey and Everton have deteriorated massively, Blackburn look a lot less solid and Spurs... well, they're Spurs aren't they? |

I dont agree with the statement that the Premier League is getting really competitive
apart from the top4, i think almost every other team is difficult to get points from the top 4. this year's discrepancy is getting wider take the recent matches as examples, we could easily get the 3 points from barcoders if we have ronnie, nani, anderson or a proper CF. u can see how easy arse beat them. fulham defeated arse but dont u think they can do the same thing on the other 3 or on another day do it again on arse? re liverPOOR drops points at villa, losing gerrard and torres hit them hard but they drop points only because their own reason rather than villa did well |

All teams have injuries and suspensions. It's how the manager copes with players being out that defines how the team copes during the season. What if Owen had been fit and ready for the game against us? |
