Should have just asked that from the start, as it would have been most people answers. If not, than Ruud.
Anyway, this was the list you were after: Mark McGee Brian McClair Mark Hughes Danny Wallace Mark Robbins Dion Dublin Eric Cantona Dwight Yorke Andrew Cole Teddy Sheringham Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Ruud Van Nistelrooy Alan Smith David Bellion Wayne Rooney Henrick Larrson Berbatov That Mexican lad Welbeck Lous Saha Diego Forlan Macheda |

No he wasn't.
Not writing it all for a third time though but I'd say Ruud was the best. Henrick Larsson was a fantastic striker - doesn't get credit due to playing against average Scottish opposition but in his prime he would have got goals anywhere. |

Well what if you're going of the basis that there are 4 areas on the pitch (which it seems is what Baz is doing). This being Goalkeepers, Defenders, Midfielders and Strikers. From that list, Cantona would be a striker.

Rooney is quicker and stronger. Rooney is the more consistent goal scorer. Rooney is the better passer and has more vision. Rooney is more flexible, as conveyed by his great performances at left wing/leftback during the 08/09 season. |

Cantona did join us later in his career. Rooney is only 25 or something? I dont think Rooney can be judged now currently, along with any current squad memeber. Only when he retires/leaves, or when Fergie retires. |

If you're talking about the best striker as opposed to forward then RVN is the only answer to the question.
When however you talk about the best forward to play under SAF then thats a different story. |

No..
He was a very good player and clearly influential but was he better then Ole, Ruud, Rooney? Maybe certain characteristics but as a striker we've been very lucky and I don't think Cantona quite lived up to his potential, though he hit the heights. He scored vital goals and was an inspiration but he was not the best striker by any means. |

Cantona is Stronger, a more consistant player, he doesnt go missing for a month or two...EVERY SEASON, Cantonas vision is far far superior to Rooney, granted Rooney is quicker and more flexible.
