And how you can be English and not care about your country's team is beyond me. I want the best players to play for England, and Carrick is one of the best English midfielders.
Plus it would make Carrick happy , so it should make us happy.
We used to hold French flags when Eric played for us, and we sing Argentina Argentina for a player who deserves to hear it named Tevez.

I would also like to see Evra play for France, Anderson for Brazil etc, because only the best players play for their countries and only the best players play for United.
Well put. I'm an American and even though my national side are absolute shit, I can guarantee that I will always support them (and England as I lived there for a while as well). I can certainly understand the frustration at the anti-United treatment at times from the FA and other English supporters, but not supporting the players on the field or not wanting United players to play for their country is going a bit too far, and missing the mark, really.

I refer the right honourable gentleman to my previous answer.

"England Fans, they're all twats, they get so excited.
Shove your England up your arse, we are Man United".

Manchester > England

'You can stick your fucking England up your arse'.
United > England.
Stop giving a shite about England when i hit puberty.
Impossible to have any sort of pride in a side that houses, Cole, Gerrard, Lampard etc, and has a following of a bunch of cnuts.
Never felt any sort of national pride, but that's another arguement/debate.
he he first time posting while a bit pissed...

Got sent off, he came home, reputation zero.
England fans, they're all twats, they get so excited,
Shove your England up your arse - We Are Man United.

Everyone on here hates Beckham

As to the other topic in here, the couldn't care less attitude toward England or in some cases utte dislike.

Well i as both an England and United supporter do not feel that is me who need to justify their position one bit. It makes me all the more proud if the national side has our players in the squad or out on the pitch playing a vital role in its success.

And on a slight side note, i have to say that i am grateful for the Viva Ronaldo song this season, i could never sing the original with any heart [or without a little self editing], if i did at all.

The only shame is we don't have any Croatia players in our side to wind you Ingerlunders up with. That was funny as fuck, you have to admit.

I'm English and I not only hate the English football team I come damn close to hating the whole fucking country sometimes. Patriotism is more often than not used and abused as a mask to cover racism. I celebrated England not reaching the Euro's like a madman. It means Rooney can get a good rest, a full pre season and hopefully have his best season yet at United next year.
And this summer I can watch quality international footy without having to groan at scenes of pissed up "In-ger-lund" supporters, surrounded by bemused locals, smashing up some bar in the name of "sticking it to Johnny foreigner"
You can shove your fucking England so far up your arse it hurts the back of your throat.

From Goal.com article..

Quote:
Michael Carrick, Man Utd, 26, 6 ft 2 ins, Wallsend, Tyne and Wear, 48, his form has been fantastic, but he is set to have an injury operation this summer, so has therefore been left out. Otherwise he’d be a sure inclusion.
Huh? Is that true?

Would explain why he's not picked, but first time hearing this..
