I'm not sure I'll bother now. It's too much hassle for a meaningless game.

If they went about it with an ounce of planning I reckon they could easily sell out these games

It will sell out anyway they are probably just giving members the maximum amount of time to purchase tickets.

Which to be fair is the right way of going about it since people are on holiday and stuff

They should have allowed more than one ticket per member, and could have helped themselves by allowing people to apply online. They would have known that there'd be a significant surplus of tickets available, so I don't get how they would have lost out. It would have just made things easier for everyone, including them.

I'm not signing someone else up as a member just so I can take them to the Charity Shield, and I don't have time to spend an entire morning faffing about on the phone for general sale tickets.

I can't wait for this, not bothered about the result but it'll be a great day out on the piss and I get to see United again.

Feels like ages since I last saw them

What riles me is that I have a ST and a membership yet I cant get 2 seats next to each other.

My mate who's coming with me is sitting miles away from me!

Yet when they go on general sale people can buy mutliple tickets.

It seems very odd.

If you and a friend have guaranteed tickets through ST's and memberships why cant they give the seats a bit of a shuffle and have people sitting next to each other?

I think I said before in this thread. I can't remember the last time I actually used my membership for anything. Home games are hopeless, as there's no guarantee of a ticket, and I rarely go to games on my own, so always end up scrounging from ST holders who have spares.

and now, when there are tickets available, you can't get them using your membership anyway. It's the planning of an imbecile.

Exactly. It's not exactly a monumental ask. and they wouldn't lose out on their precious money. I don't get it

Sitting on the phone for 30/45 minutes free of charge is hardly a gigantic ordeal, to go and see a team that alot of people want to go and see.
Not ideal, but if you're as bothered as most, you'll do it.

NO, but finding 45 minutes spare time to do something that could, without any great deal of organisation, take about 3 minutes, is a pain, and trying to get more than one ticket without being seperated to opposite sides of the stadium is proving to be bizarely complicated.

If I can get them fairly easily on general sale, then fair enough, but then why am I paying for a membership when it's actually far easier to avoid using it?

I can sympathize with you about the phone calls. I'm in the fortunate postition that I can have united road on speaker for 45 mins and no one in my office complains because they know how fanatical I am.

The only real use for a membership is to get tickets from viagogo for mates.

Then they end up £50 a pop.

Which is also gay.

Besides, I haven't had to contact either Natwest or BT for anything for over a week, and I need something/someone to complain relentlessly about

Just to confirm, the ONLY way to buy the general sale tickets is via the phone? Can you choose your seats aswell (from what is available obviously)

As far as I know - yes - unless you can get to the Utd ticket office in person.

Certainly, when I looked a week or 2 ago, there was no online option.

Check the Utd website - ticket applications or news.
