David de Gea

Quote:
The 20-year-old goalkeeper passed a medical this week and has agreed a five-year deal with the club.

“I feel very proud and I can’t wait to start playing here,” said De Gea in an exclusive interview with MUTV’s Mandy Henry.

“When a club the size of Manchester United comes in for you it obviously makes you very, very happy.

"I saw their interest as an extra motivation to work even harder to show off my ability.

"It’s a great privilege to be part of a club like United and I'm keen to do my best and show what I can do.”

Very, very excited about this signing. We've just got one of the top youngsters in the world.

Very pleased with our activity so far this summer. 3 very good signings - Jones and De Gea have all the potential in the world, and Young is a proven PL player.

Now for that class centre midfielder and we're set

Very pleased too, but without your last line I don't think we've actually improved our first team.

Let's get that little fucking snood wearing lezzer in and we're all set.

i'm convinced he looks like one of the who's from the grinch, which will probably mean his mind is elsewhere through half of november and all of december, this is when he will make mistakes.

Delighted about this one.

This was the most important transfer of the summer by a long way. Glad it's done now. I hope the boy lives up to the hype, I'm sure he will.

Delighted about this. Probably the first signing we've made in years that all the muppets were desperate for in the transfer forum.

Sanchez next then... *cough*

What's the weather like back home today? It's 26 degrees in Sweden but I can imagine David has finally come back down to Earth in Manchester? is it grey? is there rain? It's tied up now so it don't matter

Fantastic stuff. Really pleased with the young and current talent at our disposal in defence now. Built for the future right there.

Well, the GK position is weaker because even though this young lad has great potential and is tipped to become one of the best in the world, obviously we'll miss Edwin a great deal, not least his experience.

Young I feel improves us as last season, I think we had a period where Nani was our only fit winger, and also like I said that Young is a proven PL player who I feel will get better playing at a better club.

I was surprised about Jones, but I'm curious to see how he will do. He impressed me a few times he played against us.

And, yes I do think we need that bit of spark in midfield to make a difference, I wouldn't mind Nasri coming here.

Fergie is looking tanned and healthy in that pic. I'm a little wary of this signing but best of luck David, welcome to United.

When you look at the size of his fecking hands I'd say his feet have no problem filling big shoes at all.

That yellow one muct be an away kit or the change kit - the black and green one is the home GK kit - which really is smart. You have no taste son

Welcome De Gea!

We have big gloves to fill but he has as good a chance as any keeper. We've made some smart signings so far and hopefully we've got a top class midfielder arriving soon.

What else have you got up your sleeve, Fergie?

I think he'll be fantastic for us from the get-go. It's obvious we've gone for a GK in the Van Der Sar mold.

Welcome, Dav-eed de He-ya

Seems all the stories he would not be able to sign until 1 July due to agent issues was just speculation.
