They seem to have some sort of sense. Liverpool should at least be thankful that the club is in safe hands now.

Do these Pool fans not realise that they are tarnishing their image and thus their long term prospects with this behaviour, all over a player that will fuck off at the first opportunity. Did they learn nothing from Torres?

Who should have acted better? Clearly they think Evra should have, but who else?

That's genius. LFC didn't apologise to MUFC. So now LFC have to come out and say 'we didn't apologise to you' and stir the pot AGAIN or allow us to put words in their mouths.

Atrociously bad for most of the morning, I though. Martin Tyler and Tony Cottee seemed very much in the 'sweep it under the carpet' camp.

They actually seemed surprised that the issue of racism has overshadowed football (imagine that!, the horror!) and a press conference should be called (with sky camera's there of course) no matter what, they didn't seem to care if such a press conference would be sincere or sham. That doesn't seem to matter, 'lets just put it to bed' seems to be the motto going around.

Lack of understanding has been baffling.

They are sensitive little princesses aren't they? It isn't fair for Evra to celebrate, we're Liverpool and would never do that!

I have to say, I thought it was very kind and generous of Liverpool Football Club to apologise for yesterday when it was clear that it was in fact Evra who withdrew his hand, and Suarez did nothing wrong. They showed themselves to be the better club, accepting responsibility for something that didn't happen.

Barnes has lost it. He just used the argument that race doesn't exist to say you cannot condemn a racist insult.

The chaps at Fenway have come down like a ton of bricks on DogLeash and his racist player. Would love to have been in on that VDO conference and have heard what was said but I imagine it was pretty much a one way conversation.

DogLeash has had his wings well and truly clipped. I'd imagine Fenway are considering whether to retain his services next season, his decision making not only in this matter but also in the transfer market has simply been atrocious.

Dalglish was directly asked about the incident yesterday live on TV and did he apologise?? Absolutely not - instead blamed the media and said the interviewer was "bang out of order".

Now he's sorry and Suarez has let the club down etc.....not buying it at all. Surprised a lot of media outlets are acting as if this makes everything right.

What's wrong with that kind of logic? I mean, imagine if Evra had taken suarez's hand, thrown him to the ground and stomped on his head. Have you considered that? Suarez was right not to shake his hand in case that happened.

Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre released a statement which read:

"We are extremely disappointed Luis Suarez did not shake hands with Patrice Evra before yesterday's game. The player had told us beforehand that he would, but then chose not to do so.

He was wrong to mislead us and wrong not to offer his hand to Patrice Evra. He has not only let himself down but also Kenny Dalglish, his team-mates and the club. It has been made absolutely clear to Luis Suarez that his behaviour was not acceptable.

Luis Suarez has now apologised for his actions, which was the right thing to do. However, all of us have a duty to behave in a responsible manner and we hope he now understands what is expected of anyone representing Liverpool Football Club."

That is one hell of a public spanking.

If it was also administered via the cane, the poor racist boy wont be able to sit down for days.

Come Lads lets move on from this... Its time we faced up to the ugly truth... that United, and their supporters (and the world wide media) are clearly guilty of "Scousism" and we shouldn't judge others by their "Scouseness" or "non-scouseness". Its not their fault, they were born that way.

Why can't we all just get along?

Liverpool fans are priceless though. I've a mate who is a scouse fan, on his facebook last night he had a status where he talked about how he'd watched a YouTube video that clearly showed Evra refused Suarez hand, and how this was all being twisted by the media. Liverpool fans agreed, myself and a few other United fans told him he was talking bollocks.

Today I was expecting him to mention that he'd watched a YouTube video that proved Suarez hadn't issued a statement apologising for not shaking Evra's hand, it was the other way round, and the media were twisting it again. Conspiracy you see. But no, lo and behold, the status, and any mention of the incident has mysteriously vanished.

So, given the options of standing by your initial view, that Evra withdrew his hand, and arguing that possibly Liverpool were being the better man and accepting the blame, even though they are blameless, or accepting you got it wrong and that it was Suarez withdrawing his hand, but at least he apologised, Liverpool fans instead delete any mention of the whole incident and pretend the whole thing never happened, or that they ever had any opinion on it. Brilliant.

I might ask him where his status went.

How else do Liverpool fans exist if not in "what ifs"? For example: "What if next year was our year?"

Edit: it's always next year, not this year. At least by the time it's February it isn't.

He's contradicting himself. Race exists in the sense that it's a social construct. That's prevalent in the UK society. How can he be blind to that?

You have to think how often he would play if they keep him. Signed by Liverpool whilst banned, he's just returned from not one, but two bans. Can you even see him lasting till the end of the season without being banned again?
