From his comment above, I'd imagine that some of the Italian clubs have come in for him. I would not be surprised if Juventus had made an approach as there is a good fit as well as plenty of national team offers. But as always SAFs class oozes through with his refusal to name the clubs. I cant wait for the next edition of his autobiography! |

Mid 80's Barcelona: He was first offered to take the job that later went to Veneables. Barcelona were impressed with his attacking footaball and the subsequent European sucess in 82-83 with Aberdeen..He was one of the few British managers who was rated highly even in the 80's,
Mid 90's it was Inter Milan, they were running through some administrative squabbles and wanted a reputed manager to build their team..It was sometime after the Ince fiasco, after they fail to lure Giggs and Cantona... There was also some rumour when enquires for Paul Scholes by Milan clubs didnt materialize and also when the then owners refused to sanction money for Di Canio's transfer and Fergie was quoted he would step down. Milan were first in the list and later it was like Sven would manage United and Fergie would manage Ingerland...The latter story came out of tabloid shite, when we lost out the title...Fergie was quick to diffuse it... Around 2004-2006 Real Madrid....no media quote as such but bob when he wasnt drunk disclosed this info before Bestie funeral... |
