And you'd see how influential Berbatov would be.

Ridiculous you talk about the way Capello's played Rooney and then suggest he should be the furthest forward when he's clearly been behind a target man at International level under Capello.
Hardly. Rooney still drops too deep and has been told more than once to push further forward by the coaching staff. I don't think he and Berbatov have built up a proper understanding, because Berbatov will find a target man if there's one there - Rooney has not played that this season, or at least to any success.

As for Rooney and Heskey, he floats in and around the big man there. He gets in behind him too for Heskey to drop off, lay the ball to Lampard, Barry or Gerrard.

The difference is that Heskey and Rooney have an understanding, for some reason.

My formation was better than any suggestion that Rooney should play wide left for us behind "Class CF". What's that? A downgraded drug?

I remember standing on the platform at South Kensington station and glancing at the back page of a bloke's paper. The headline was something like "It's Eric the Red" and there was a picture of Cantona holding up a United scarf. After losing the league to Leeds the previous year, I was reluctant to get my hopes up just because we'd signed a player. But after watching him play and score at Hillsborough, I was sold. He's a one-off like Best and Law and I don't think it's fair to compare Berbatov to him.

Eric's still king. No one is near as good as he was on the pitch and how he lead the team. Hope that SAf can find someone that can do that again. There will be none as good as "the king", but if this player is half as good, that will be enough for me.

We'd need that to do what, exactly?

If we got Zlatan we'd probably be favourites for the league and Champions League.

And you've not really got a clue if you think Ibrahimovic doesn't lead the line, or he or Rooney would be happy to sit on the bench with another lead the line striker.

You're living in a dream world.

I'm surprised anyone could think Rooney's played too deep, or hasn't played ahead of Berbatov. Shocked, really.

It seems blatantly clear and you could go and check the heat maps if you needed proof.

Sure. Ibra would just thrive on one overhit ball he would receive from Nani per game, and that cross that didn't reach him from Valencia, and misplaced pass from Anderson. He would fart and referee would blow the whistle for a goal

No team is complete. We won't ever be complete. We don't need to be complete.
