Are you counting the 89-92 side? Not dominant but did win a couple trophies.
At the end of 94 season the team changed completely with the kids coming in

'95... but the core was intact for quite some time... the likes of Beckham and Scholes hit their strides from 99-03 when United had new defenders, keepers, forwards, etc. The 93-97 timeframe was pretty much the same key players.

Schmeichel (99)
Parker (96) [replaced by Gazza around 95)
Bruce (96)
Pallister (98)
Irwin (02)
Kanchelskis (95) [replaced by Beckham in 95]
Keane(05)
Ince (95) [replaced by Butt in 95]
Giggs (??) [had forced Sharpe, 96, to the bench]
Cantona (97)
Hughes (95) [Cole's arrival made him expendable]

I see it this way... SAF has been around for 22 years (21 full years)... and say he sticks around through 2010 that's approximately 24 years in charge. So divide his tenure into quarters.

87-92: FAC, CWC, LC, SC
93-98: 4 PL, 2 FAC
99-04: 4 PL, 2 FAC, EC, IC
05-10: 2 PL, LC, more to come

In nine years seven European Cups were won by English teams, and another of those times an English team was in the final.

If that isn't total domination by a single nation then I don't know what is.

True, winning the cups speaks volumes of the league (and the competition faced). But there were quite a few German clubs winning cup finals and losing them during the same time. The English leagues had more clubs winning the silverware.

Fergie also turned Aberdeen to the best side in Scotland and that's pretty incredible as well.
