So is Scholes-Anderson-Giggs judging from that Villa match away and the Wigan home game.

Even though people have failed to notice..Scholes had a terrible day vs Spurs. A hard game to early after an injury lay off. That is what was killing our midfield. Nothing else. Because placing Carrick alongside him didn't improve a thing. Which says it all. Since they normally gel superbly

Now we have them all fit SAF needs to choose his best two and stick with them bringing a third in when needed (this will be rarely imo). The others come in to cover for injuries / introduced as subs to affect the game in some way. As Rafa proves all too well, rotation does not work.

SAF needs to do this quickly before we drop any more points and fuck the title up.

A very good point by the Chief.

Scholes did have a bit of a shocker, which was always gonna cause problems for his midfield partner. When Scholesy was eventually subbed off, it had a far more beneficial effect than Hargreaves being hooked.

I'll repeat what I said in the other thread, the problem with Hargreaves is he can't help when Scholes has an off day nor with any of his current midfield partners as he can't pass, we're sunk because he's shit at football.

That's just stupid. Carrick came on and Scholes was still awful and so were we. You can't have one partner in a two man midfield having an off day and expect anything to work. Seriously. It not a surprise we only begun functioning when Anderson was brought on for Scholes.

Do you always judge new signings after just over 6 months at the club? Because that's a very good way to end up making yourself look stupid.

He can't pass, you can tell that pretty quickly about any player, no matter how well he does his running around thing he'll never be able to pass a ball so he'll never be good enough.

At the risk of repeating myself Hargreaves didn't arrive from nowhere, his limitations were well exposed when he played for Bayern. None of this should be a surprise.

He knows how to pass the ball alright. But because you plain hate him you will never admit it. No player who has played for years in a 4-4-2 system at a club like Bayern can not know how to pass the ball. That is an impossiibilty.

Nicky Butt played a bazillion games for us, he couldn't pass either

He managed to hide his "limitations" quite well en route to winning all those trophies for Bayern.

He was their Nicky Butt/Phil Neville/Random youth product who was decent enough but nought special.

We paid £18 million for Butt

The young Nicky Butt was a better midfielder than Hargreaves is now.

Do you seriously think Owen Hargreaves is no better than Nicky Butt? I mean, seriously?

Fucking hell. I knew I shouldn't have bothered coming back to this thread. 31 pages, filled with mainly with some of the most ridiculous opinions I've ever heard.

Good to see it's business as usual on here today.

Adieu.

You can't compare a mere squad player like Butt to Hargreaves. Hargreaves is far better than Butt ever was. Hargreaves was a key player at Bayern. Which Butt wasn't at Manchester United.

Butt started as many games as Scholes in the treble season

I could care less. He was never a key player. Neither was he ever able to single handely out perform and destroy the one of the world's best midfields including Zidane, Figo and Makelele over two legs as a youngster. This is not even debateable.

Yep. That's why Bayern had given him a new long term contract and sold him for 18 million. They are known for keeping youth team mediocres in their squad and giving them long term contracts. Then selling them for abnormal profit

Single-handedly? I think Sagnol, Salihamidzic, Jeremies and Lizarazu might disagree.
