Play the kids and back-up players. It'd be a good achievement if they went far in the Europa League so we could save face somewhat if that happens. It'd mean that our back up players are more up to speed should they have to step in at the business end of the season and is extra opportunity to play Morrison & co.

A mixture of young ones and fringe players. Blood the young lads.

I wouldn't worry anyway, the way we're playing at the moment, we wouldn't win the Europa League either.

A mix of players. First team players that need game time, a few kids, that sort of thing. I expect to see lots of Lindegaard, Fryers, Pogba, Morrison, Gibson, whichever Da Silva is coming back from injury, and maybe Macheda/Diouf if either of them are still at Old Trafford.

Let's just try to win the fucker, though not at the cost of the league. Thursday night games might take a bit out of the players.

I'm going to be annoyed anytime one of our "first 11" is picked for the europa league.

Play the kids.

This takes the sting out of losing to Crystal Palace.

I want to win it. Its a trophy and only last week we were so disappointed we went out of the carling cup.

This forum and from what i gather most people in Britain do not rate the europa league. That is not teh case in europe. I understand that its a second rate competition, but its still a European competition and id be delighted if we won it in may

Also A good run would maintain our uefa coefficient ranking which is important to keep our position as top seeds.

Only positive is lots of game time for Ravel and others.

Never want to see a first teamer near the team.

Joke competition on par with Carling Cup.

I don't think we'll start the kids. I think there is a bit of a code of conduct for clubs to take this competition seriously.

Have a look at Feburary, see where were at in the league and the FA Cup, if we're still there. If the calendar is relatively clear, go for it. Maybe if the seniors play in it once, they'll appreciate the CL just a little bit more.

The mentality is all wrong.

I hate it when we loose a league game, Im even more annoyed when we get knocked out of a cup. I KNOW i will be disappointed if we get knocked out of the Europa League. We should play to win it. Rotating the squad is a good thing. Its exactly what we have been doing in the CL. But playing the youth or reserve team makes no sense.

As we're now out of the FA Cup, after Liverpool on the 11th we will have 15 days until the next Premier League game and in between that we play Ajax twice.

Do you think Fergie will go with the best possible team against Ajax now, or instead see it as a good chance to rest the likes of Evra, Carrick and those who played a lot a two weeks rest?

We need to treat this has a competition to win.

I dont agree with playing a team full of reserves, play the team we would of played in the CL and go out to win it.

I know I will be in the minority but that's what I want SAF to do.

Hopefully by the time it comes round Anderson, Cleverly, Jones and Young will be ready to go and in need of games.

I hope we send a decent side out against Ajax.

Agreed we should go all out to win it after all aren't we supposed to be a professional football club? From a financial point of view I'm sick of a load of money being taken out of my account for cup games to watch mostly reserves play in a cup game. I might as well go down to Altrincham FC (our reserve team ground for those of you on this forum that hasn't a clue where anywhere in Greater Manchester is) and watch the reserves for free.

And while i'm on a rant we've had so many injuries we need to play the likes of Young, Anderson, Cleverly etc... so they can get them match fit for the final league run in where we will hopefully be competing for the Premiership.

Ajax are a team with a great history, we should do the tie justice and put out our best team. We could do with a great European night at OT. As we are out of the FA cup as well now, there is no excuse for not taking it seriously.

It's my first time going to old trafford so part of me is hoping we take it seriously. Conversely I would also love to watch the likes of Morrison and Pogba so its a bit of a conundrum. Hopefully it will be an enjoyable night and great atmosphere although I'm a little worried by the number of tickets still available.

I want us to go into this as a competition which we can look to win, but isn't seen as a priority by any stretch of the imagination.

We should look to field a stronger side in the first leg of games, and if we can build up a good margin, then we can rest most players. I don't really expect us to field our strongest team at all, but I also don't want to see us fielding our reserve side either.

We're out of the CL, FA and League cup. If we're half as good as we portray ourselves to be then we can handle 2 competitions at the same time.

I hope we use it to give the youngsters, and squad players in need of games an opportunity. I couldn't justify a player of great importance getting injured, and missing Prem games as a result. Which of course is our number one priority.

We'll be knocked out in the next round if we take that approach. That's exactly why we got into this mess in the first place, as SAF used the group stage to rotate, meaning players were out of match practice and played like shit collectively

I agree, crappy rotation certainly played a part in our embarrassing Champions League exit. If we exited early from the Europa League, I personally wouldn't be overly concerned (Unless we faced City and they knocked us out). I just don't see the point in risking players, when the potential rewards are so minute. I know that sounds ridiculously spoilt, but I'm just being honest.

Why? Its not like we'd play our youth in the Champions League games? Just because its a lesser competition doesn't mean we don't compete and throw it away like we did the Carling Cup. A team like ours should be built to be competing in all fronts, that's why we pay big money for players and pay good wages.

We should treat it as though its the Champions League, are you saying we should played weakened teams in the CL so that it doesn't disrupt our league charge?

We aren't built on such attitudes that "oh, its only the Europa league, we don't need to win it". We are Manchester United, and such mentality is why teams don't win trophies - our mentality should be that we rotate sensibly in the league and cup games, in order to achieve the best possible finish in all of the competitions. We're not Stoke or Birmingham who's worse impact is relegation if competing hard for the Europa League.

I say it again, we're Manchester United, we go for the win. I'd be upset if we played the same team as the Carling Cup against Palace. We should rotate a few players but play a strong team.

We haven't won it before, and we'll be hoping we never get the opportunity to win it again, so I'd like us to make the most of it.

At the same time, when we've got players like Berbatov and Owen doing next to nothing, it makes little sense to use Rooney in the Europa League. Same goes for Morrison and Pogba. Give them the chance to prove they're worth the money they're after. It shouldn't be seen as not taking it seriously by playing such players.

Midfielders: Scholes, Anderson, Cleverley, Pogba, Lingard, Cole, Park, Valencia, Young
Strikers: Chicharito, Welbeck, Berbatov, Owen, W.Keane

Rooney, Giggs, Ferdinand, Nani, Carrick and Evra should go to Dubai for 7-10 days.
