I can't believe this "it's in their hand's" is so controversial. What if the positions had flipped and we could be Champions by winning our last 4 games (from behind). We'd be saying "It's in our hands now!"

Exactly, i'm tilting it towards City because they have to play us at the Etihad where they have been unbeatable all season.

You know the reason we're top is because we aren't every other team in the League

Bring Vidic back from injury and park the bus at the Etihad next week. A draw would be lovely.

I know. Its really not hard to understand. The phrase implies you don't need to count on other teams. A scenario which applies to both City and us. Yet you'll get people harping on about points.

It's annoying to drop points like this, sure, but this wasn't depressing and horrible like the Wigan defeat. We played brilliant football in the second half but paid the price of our complacency. The brilliant displays of Nani and Welbeck are real positives, something to take into the City game. We can hurt them if we sort out the defending and stop being so complacent.

So we need 2 wins in 3 to win it right?

Nervy but still in our hands.

Not confident about our mentality though.

City should be favourites with the bookies if not now than by the end of the day. As things stand I'd still prefer to be in our position, though. They've got to beat us, Newcastle and potentially a bitter Mark Hughes with his side fighting for survival.

The sad truth is, we deserve to be punished. We haven't been up to the standards we expect this season and that's why we end up with a result like today's.

I can't believe what I am reading here. Is there any supporting us if the moment you think we've wavered, you're going to jump ship for the next best thing?

Whether it's in our hands or theirs is obviously a matter of opinion, despite everything United still has the better situation.Whatever happens today, at the kick off next week, United will have a three point lead.

That's seven games that we have gone behind first in and not won...

Hint. Don't concede first in our next three games. Especially on Monday.

So what? We made them look average until we let them back in.

This is why if they win today it's as much in their hands as ours, if we go there with only a 3 point gap they have positive momentum and we are coming off a collapse at home, and they have a near perfect home record.

Is is such a dumb thread and meaningless discussion. Some United supporters are glory hunters, period!

We are 6 points ahead and three games to play, and people on here said we have throwing away the title?!! How come they don't know the maths? We are fecking 6 points ahead!!!! How could City all of a sudden get advantage?!!!

So all those times in World Cups and European Championships, when all the 3rd place team has to do is beat the 2nd place team in the final group game and they go through, and it's wrong to use this expression?

For me this feels a lot worse than the Wigan defeat but by a big margin tbh.

Really? I think they'll be gagging to play us. We're there for the taking.

So let me get this right, everyone is really confident, after watching that shambes at the back, that we can go to City and get a win or draw?

I am not sure. If Jelavic, Pienaar, Felliani etc can pull us apart like today what on earth do you think Tevez, Aguero, Silva, Toure will do on their own patch?

Say what you want about me but I just don't see us getting anything on Monday, I really don't.

That's got absolutely nothing to do with the phrase "in their hands", but carry on talking about points.

Absolutely gutted. Still can't believe it. 1-1 I could have taken, but not 4-4.

City will win title on goal difference now.

They were defending the cup at home. Of course they'd put up a hell of a fight. It'll be a more cautious game next week but we're more that capable of going there and winning or getting a point. Hopefully, we'll go 4-5-1 and play it like a European away game (not the Bilbao variety of course).

Bloody Everton just put 4 goals past us, and to think i'm getting shot down for being the only one worried that today we may have completely blown it? Everton!

It was a shambles out there today, not a team who look like champions.
