Rio > Vidic. Rio's positiong is superior to vidic's. Rio has matured in a way that defensively he can grab a game from the scruff of the neck. Vidic has not reached that positon yet. And we haven't mentioned Rio's pace yet.

There are other threads for Rio v Vidic. I was originally only making the point that different posters have different opinions on who the main man is at United whether it's Rooney, Ronaldo, Vidic, Rio, Dong, whoever.

The thread is about Ronaldo v. Rooney. My two cents:
1. It took the efforts of the whole team and especially Rooney for Ronaldo to shine the way he did last season. 2.The two of them playing and interacting together, plus Carlito, were totally awesome. 3. If Ronaldo stays, they will still be awesome but Rooney's development will see him playing a more selfish and impactful role. 4. Without Rooney, Ronaldo will not be so outstanding. There ain't no Rooney at RM. 5. Without Ronaldo, Rooney will be much, much better as an individual player. Our system will have to change to accommodate the loss of Ronaldo, and Rooney will rise to the challenge. 6. Rooney will never lose his United heart and soul. 7. Put that together with an improved individual performance and you have the answer - Rooney is more valuable to us that Ronaldo. I hope (and believe) all the RM bollocks will end soon, Ronnie will stay and then I think over time we could be looking at the new Di Stefano/Puskas combo. But although I believe Ronaldo will not leave this season, he will sooner rather than later. So this Di Stefano/Puskas combo won't happen! |
