Needs bit more meat over his bones and then he'll be fine. In the Chelsea game many Chelsea players got past him and also won almost every ball against him, because he's bit too lightweight. But there's no problem with his playing otherwise, he clears the ball away and does the job what he has to do.

Yeah he was good in the game, but he got skinned few times. Ferdinand saved him in the first half when he almost let Anelka or someone else get through but Ferdinand just cleared the ball and it went as a throwing. And he lost really many balls in the air. But he's still young and learning, he will be great in the future.

Celtic was a non-threat, but his composure and ball-playing skills are totally class. As is his distribution from the back. No wonder why SAF reassures his future at OT.

Christ, here we go again. He wasn't anything special today.
He started off a bit nervy I thought which is unlike him, but slowly settled into the game and it was a typically composed performance. I thought he was a bit reserved in his distribution throughout though, the first thing he did every time he got the ball was look for a pass to Vidic. He's already a quality defender, he'll go very, very far. |

The fact he keeps coming in and doing well without getting a proper run in the side is most impressive, its abit easier for a winger or a striker but to slot in a solid back 4 in the middle and not look out of place is great.

Seems to be one of the better products of our academy these days; was dubious until this season, but now I've seen him play in a red shirt I think he'll be here for years to come.

He's only 20? I thought he's something like 22/23.

Slotted in seamlessly for the best centre back in the world. Keeps on passing every test that Fergie gives him with flying colours, even when lack of match sharpness might give him an excuse not too. Unlike last season, its actually getting to the stage where I'm not unduly concerned when Vidic or Rio are ruled out.
