Brown's more likely to go into the centre, with O'Shea or Neville out there.

He'll probably play Wes against Chelsea, but for the next two I'd expect to see Jonny at centre-half.

EDIT: spastic

Surely Vida is only out for one game?

Hrgreaves will play at right back against Chelsea with Wes in the middle

So we should put an inexperienced player, who by all means could turn into a very average player, in such a massive game? Great idea

Yes, didn't we do it with Pique last year against Arsenal?

He said he wants first team football, he obviously has class, basicly kept Sunderlands defence together last season, why not let him play against Chelsea?

I would really love to see Evans given a chance against Chelsea, he deserves it, he is a full international FFS.

Having said that I see it being Wes at CB and any one of Hargreaves/Neville/Oshea/Rooney/Giggs at RB.

A full international for Northern Ireland, it's not like they have many to choose from...

Doesn't make the fuck of a difference, he's not playing against N Ireland, he's playing (and very well) against other international teams - some of them very good.

So if we had an Andorran international playing against other top teams you would use that as a reason for playing him in this team, even though he's not ready?

Not necessarily. Will he ever be ready? Who knows?

That depends on what other playing experience he's had doesn't it?

Evans has had a season at Sunderland in the PL, he has played in competitive Internationals against the likes of Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Czech Republic
He has not only held his own but been MOM in several of those matches.

He has more experience than most other kids have had when they broke through at United so to cite 'lack of experience' is a cop out. If he's ready he's ready. I would hold no fear to see him line up alongside Ferdinand against Chelsea.

He will be ready. He's ready to start against 80% of the teams in this league, but not Chelsea away up against Drogba and Anelka.

He has performed brilliantly for Northern Ireland, I know that as well as anyone. I was just making the point that saying he should play just because he's an international is stupid.

He is good enough, but risking him against the pace and power of Drogba and Anelka is insane imo, in such an important match.

He can handle Drogba

Chelsea will not play Drogba and Anelka together. Most likely Anelka would be shifted wide

John O'Shea has performed brilliantly at CB for Ireland lately so you're right to say that playing in internationals is not enough on its own. By that logic Fergie would play O'Shea at CB.

I just can't see Fergie giving Evans his full PL debut at Stamford Bridge in such a crucial game. Lose that game and we're in trouble. Fergie will be playing it safe.

I'd like to see Evans start against Chelsea. He is good enough to play them. But Brown will play in the centre.

Why keep him, if we don't trust him and let him play.?
I really hope that Evans start against Chelsea. He is quality, let him play.

But I don't think it will happen. Fergie will play it "safe" and move Brown to the centre, and then have O'Shea or Neville on the right.. Unfortunately..

Brown is the better CB atm so fergie might start him there with Gaz at right back.

Agreed. Personally I'd relish it. I don't want Hargreaves at right back but in midfield vs Chelsea and I don't think Gary Nev's ready to start either.

My guess is that he's protecting Wes for Sunday, but you never know with SAF.

Hardly been tested though, Villareal's attacking threat has been non-existent.

I'm surprised Vida isn't playing but it seems like Fergie wants to give Evans some match fitness.
