I think a lot of posters have to remember Roy Keane isn't a Manchester United fan. He gave his all for the club and was a legendary player on the field. The man was an excellent pro and I believe he gave his all because that;s the way he functions as a person. He never gave his all just because he played for United and would have shown the same desire had he played for Chelsea/Arsenal/L'pool.

I respect his honesty but we shouldn't be expecting any pro-united bias from the man. I still think he is still quite bitter about the way he left the club.

It always amuses me when people get angry at Roy Keane being critical of things. At what point in time has Roy Keane ever not been critical of everything? Every time he was given man of the match after a game he'd spend the interview being critical of himself.

That's what made him great. You could be 5-0 up, and as far as he was concerned, it wouldn't be good enough.

United fans are so ridiculously precious these days.
Couldn't agree more.

City have still got to go up to Newcastle but they’re in the driving seat now. But United will always be United. To me, they are still the best and whatever disappointments they’re having at the moment, don’t worry, they’ll bounce back. They always do.”

“It’s one thing identifying a player you want to bring to your team but going and getting them,” said Keane. “With the transfer fees, but not just that, the big problem for United might be the wages because we know what type of wages Man City are paying. It’s going to be difficult but Man United will always be attractive to a lot of players and I’m sure the manager is looking at players who can improve the squad. You can’t just buy players for the sake of it. You’ve got to look at them and think can they improve what we already have. Man United have got some top, top players. Don’t worry about them, United will be fine.”
The bitter Cork cunt.

As much as a I don't like Keano as a man, all I could think on Monday was needing him to grab that game by the scruff of the neck like he did in Turin. If we had Roy Keane in his prime, we would not have lost on monday, he wouldn't let us.

I have it on good authority, however, that no record of it exists and it has been physically destroyed. You can also count the number of people who have seen it on one hand.

Funny thing is, it wasn't even meant to be Keane doing it that day - it was meant to be G.Nev.
To be pedantic for no real reason, the entire squad saw the tape so not a hanful of people.

Respect is a 2 way street.

He fully well knows the occasion and what kind of effect his words are going to have and yet he went on with it.

Deserves the abuse imo.

In fairness it would be great if you afforded the same respect to one of our top performers tonight.

On Keane, whilst I think he is wrong, it still remains refreshing to see a pundit say his point and back it up well.
