Brady played 56 minutes for Hull in a 2-1 win. Created the second goal
Quote:
The Tigers second goal came in the 38th minute and it was superbly created by Brady. His neat footwork took him past his marker on the right edge of the box and his low cross left Simpson with a simple tap in at the far post.
Tunni and Wootton apparently great games for Peterborough against notts co.

bebe scored for besiktas in his first pre season game

De Laet played CB for Norwich

-------------------------------------------
Brady played 45 minutes for Hull against Liverpool and scored the first goal in a 3-0 win.

Quote:
In the 15th minute the Tigers had their first shot on target. After some good work on the right by Liam Rosenior, Tom Cairney picked out Robbie Brady whose low drive found the hands of the Doni.

five minutes later Brady went one better as he opened the scoring. Again picking the ball up on the left, he worked his way to the edge of the area before curling an exquisite effort into the corner of the net.
Had a good game from what little I saw on the hull forum

Sam Johnstone has gone on loan to Oldham. Apparently to cover for injuries to their other keepers. Therefore expect it to be only a short term loan.

added Johnstone.
De Laet played ~60 mins for Norwich against Crystal Palace. Apparently had a very good game...

Tunnicliffe, Wooton started for Peterborough and played 57 minutes against Crawley. Peterborough won 4-2 and Ajose scored to make it 2-2.. Couldnt fine anything else about the two.

Brady, Tunni and Wooton all played for Hull/Peterborough a couple of days back. Nothing much happened

Johnstone played 82 minutes for Oldham and kept a clean sheet. they won 1-0 against Fleetwood town. Zander Diamond scored (ex Aberdeen)

De laet is playing tonight for Norwich against Zaragoza.
Its 1-1 atm, De Laet scored a header to put them ahead in the first half before Zaragoza equalized..

who's the best NC player in the first half?

Chris Lakey:
Scott - De Laet. Classy. Fox did well and Naughton.

Best player of the night Chris?

Chris Lakey:
I have to say De Laet - although don't be dismayed that he's a loan player like someone was! They've done pretty well as a team. Barnett and De Laet look a good combo, Naughton as we know has a bit about him.
Wednesday August 3, 2011 8:57 Chris Lakey

Sounds like he is having a good game

edit: ended 1-1
De Laet MoM

NorwichCityFC:
City played very well at times and that's a good, competitive run-out against La Liga opposition. De Laet rightly named man of the match. [via Twitter]

Judging from that comment about the combo, am I to assume that De Laet play at centre-half?

Yep
He has been playing at CB for them in preseason and looking at the predicted starting XI's for them, it looks like he will be playing there this season, unless there is a need to play him at fullback

I've always thought that his best qualities were his dribbling and athleticism, but shows how much I know.

Hull 0-1 Blackpool
Brady played the whole match and had a very good game.

Spoiler
Brady...brilliant...great loan signing...MOM by far...9

Brady: 8 - Brilliant with the ball at his feet, could do with making a few better decisions, but that will come with expierience. (MOTM)

Brady...looks quality get the loan extended him and stewart on eitherr wing?????...9

Brady-7 when he got the ball he looked the business

He put in at least half a dozen quality crosses from both wings after turning his double-teamers inside out that could have led to goals. Ran Blackpools defense ragged all day. A Prem quality performance and MOM for sure.

Wooton was an unused sub and Tunni came on very late. Bit disappointed they didnt play(much). Hopefully they can force themselves into the starting XI soon.

__

Bebe started for Besiktas in a friendly. They beat Ergotelis 2-1
no details on the besiktas website other than the result and starting XI

Spoiler
Hull City vs Blackpool match report

Robbie Brady, on loan from Manchester United, then cut inside from the left only to pull his shot wide of the near post.

...

Blackpool threatened again in the opening seconds after the break, Grandin skipping away from the challenge of James Chester only to be denied by a magnificent sliding tackle from Brady just inside the area.

...

The lively Brady then got to the byline and fired in a cross which Stephen Crainey had to head behind.

...

Brady raced down the right and guided in a low cross which Nick Barmby, sliding in, just failed to get a touch to.

...

Brady was causing all sorts of problems with his pace down the wings and, with two defenders for company, still got to the byline and pulled back a low cross for Cairney, who was denied by an excellent block by Cathcart.

Read on twitter a few days back that this move was moving ahead.. We should have more certain news on this sooner I suppose.. I just don't see why we are sending him to Germany.. I would rather we loan him out to that championship again incase we can't find him a PL club..

EDIT - Correction: The transfer has already been completed.. according to info on this thread: Joshua King

King was an unused sub for Monchengladbach as they drew 1-1 against Stuttgart

and De Laet getting some decent ratings on a norwich board I looked at. Made a mistake for the pen but was good other than that.

cant find much on Brady

I was looking at the Sky Sports score centre every so often to keep up with the Hull match and although it only gives a very basic amount of information they mention which team is on top and who the key player is every 20-30 mins. Brady was mentioned as key player twice so he must have been impressive again.

Found a couple of mentions:

Quote:
Wootton 8 for me he was man of the match coming in presumably at a late date, his confidence is startling for one so young and I can see it being difficult for Fergie to break up that partership on the return of Zak and the emergence of Thompson.
Quote:
Tunnicliffe 7 Had the boy been on the pitch for the full ninety I think he may have been man of the match, the game turned after him and Alcock came on and we almost (for a change) snatched victory from the jaws of defeat
Quote:
It was Ferguson’s changes that had the most effect, though. With Tunnicliffe trying to drive Posh on with a performance full of real effort the away side suddenly snapped back into life and started playing some nice football again.

I was not impressed by De Laet's performance against Wigan. I thought on too many occasions his positioning was poor and he made poor decisions on when to be aggressive and challenge the striker and when to hold back. Really when you manage to make Franco "2 goals in 56 appearances" Di Santo look like a decent player you know you haven't done very well. At least he got in those two good blocks late in the match so it wasn't a complete nightmare, but other than those it's hard to point to any positives in his performance.

I wonder how long Lambert will keep him in central defence. At least as a full back he could use his pace up and down the wing to provide Norwich with some much needed width, especially on the right side.

^^I thought he did alright. Saw bits of the match on replay.
Made a few good tackles and the blocks towards the end were crucial.
One bad mistake, but everyone makes them. Even Rio does that once a season.

Added Reece Brown to the list.
Initial 1 month loan according to the Doncaster website.
from the united website
Quote:
16:40 Reece Brown has joined Doncaster Rovers on a month's loan. The 19-year-old defender goes into Sean O'Driscoll's squad for tonight's home game against Nottingham Forest. (SB)
Championship should be a good experience for Brwn jr

Leeds 4-1 Hull
Brady wasnt feeling well before the game and came off in the second half.
Apparently the Hull keeper had a shocker . Nothing much on the outfield player's performance. Assuming he did alright as I didnt read anyone blaming him for anything

Doncaster 0-1 Nottingham Forest
Brown came on for the last 5 minutes. Not surprising as he had played the reserves game against Arsenal the previous night and had joined Doncaster hours before KO

Peterborough play Millwall away tonight.

Yeah, looked good on MOTD highlights.

Apart from the two blocks at the death, they also showed him managing to out-pace Victor Moses (who is lightening) and get in a great sliding tackle.

Very surprised Tunnicliffe isn't getting more time, given how well he was doing for the youth team last season. Hopefully, just being eased in, maybe a little short of match fitness for some reason?
