My favourite quote : Cantona :-La plus noble des vengeances est de pardonner. Bishop :-I'm fed up with all these bullshits. Ken Loach deals with some society problems without getting tiresome. They don't prevail over the main story. I really enjoyed this movie, it got me in a great mood. |

Do you really think Cantona's favourite moment in football was that flicked pass to Irwin? As good as it was i found it a little hard to take considering some of the goals he scored.
He spoke about generating more pleasure from giving rather than taking; if you'll excuse the turn of phase, but surely he'd see any goal scored as a gift to the fans and so removing the requirement to provide an 'assist' to a team mate to validate this poetic claim of his? |

I went with a bird last year (I basically didn't tell her the movie was about my favourite ever footballer to get her to come along) and she absolutely loved it.

When is he?
It amazes me how hard it is to convince not man utd fans to watch this film, i know mates who hate football but are big film buffs and would love it if they watched but dont want to because it appears to be about a footballer and also no big film and football fans who arent intrested because it is about a man utd legend. |

thought it was great, some of the footage of Eric sent a shiver down my spine, the one touch volley had me applauding the tv, it was supreme class that just doesn't seem to be around these days.
But for me the cup final volley will always be my favouite, the moment, opposition and technique and quick thinking to take such a large step to get over the ball and strike it so well puts it well up there with the best united moments of my life, with the whiteside cup final goal, Hughes v barca and ole's winner in the noucamp |

Just was looking at some things about Eric and came across this piece on both him and Ken Loach. It's terrific.
