That Semi first leg between Barca and Juve is one of the best games I've seen. I remember watching the highlights and thinking "fuck me, we're out of our depth here!"

We got lucky as fuck with our draw, Montpellier aside. There were some good teams in the CWC that season - Barca, Juve, Sampdoria, Dynamo Kiev, Kaiserslautern, PSV under Bobby Robson, and even a half-decent Aberdeen team. They just kept drawing each other and we ended up with Peski Munkas, Legia Warsaw and fucking Wrexham!

Legia beat Sampdoria in the Quarters. Could've been a difficult semi for us, they(Sampa) were a very good side back then. That said we beat Barca in the final, which was no mean feat.

It certainly wasn't. They were a cracking side - won the Spanish League that season and the European Cup (against Sampdoria) the season after. Yet apart from the last 10 mins we played them off the park.

Kinell......few points to be emphasised here.

- Becks was not a limited player. Never was, at least not in his united years.
- As a pair, Yorke and Cole are peerless. Cantona-Cole/Hughes, Ruud-Rooney, Ruud-Saha, Ruud-Ole, Berbatov - Keane, or whatever combination you can think of, those two as a pair are the deadliest ever.
