The true test if City can win the league is if they can go to midtable grounds like Newcastle, Stoke, West Brom, Everton, Villa, Fulham, Sunderland etc and win more often than they drop points. Obviously we didn't do this last season but this season I feel that the winning point total will need to be much higher. So far this season we've looked good in these sorts of games, and in a long season it might be where we edge it. Their home record is excellent and I fear that we'll have to grab at least a point there, and we'll probably have to get 5+ points combined from trips to Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal too. Our home record is strong enough and we should win all of our remaining home games barring another refereeing travesty like the Newcastle game. A long shot is that mid-table clubs will start to go to the COMS and NOT play with fear and get thrashed, which clubs did at the start of the season after City were on a good roll. If they drop a few unexpected points at home then it'll take the pressure off our trips away at the big 5 teams. |

City still favorites for me, considering the fixtures we have left in the 2nd half of the season.
However, I think its fantastic the way we have reeled them in over the last few weeks. After the 6-1 defeat everyone in media and even some on here expected us to fall away. Yet here we are. We went back to basics, sorted the defense and now look like we've sorted both sides of the game. All while continuing to churn out wins. Amazingly we are only 5 goals behind them considering at one point they were well out in front. They know they are in a fight. I expect us to keep it going. We've been there and done it. We are not going to fall away or give them any gifts. Its up to them to go out and win the title. And if they do it, then fair enough they'll deserve it. |

Looking at the fixtures (shitload of away games against top clubs for us, shitload of home games against top clubs for them), we needed the three points at home playing the bottom team. We weren't satisfied with 1 point and we've got zero.
Advantage City, and honestly, they're big favorites. They have a big squad, not many injuries like us and the easier fixtures. The points they've lost all make sense, no surprising points dropped or shock defeats. We must bank on them bottling it and/or us pulling off a superb run. |

Anything can happen and there's still a long way to go but we've just gone ahead and transferred all the pressure on ourselves with the result against Blackburn. Having looked like running away with things, for city's lead to have been wiped away and us to suddenly he top every other time they played would have put all the pressure on them. Instead we've relieved that and made sure were the ones who are worried about not falling away too far again. Momentum is a big thing in title races and its important we don't let this result cause a big swing or anyrhing and that the next change in the gap is in our favour.
And it has to be said that the worst part is that it was a gift. It wasnt like city's defeat to chelsea where they were soundly beaten and respectfully beaten. Ours yesterday was a but of a joke to be honest. We tripped over our own feet and threw points right out of the window. If we are to win it this year we can't afford to drop easy points. We have to attain a level of consistency where teams really have to earn points againdt us. That's the crucial but for me. |

City will still be the happier side this weekend, Sunderland under MON was probably a fixture they expected dropped points from. Big opportunity missed for us. Obviously though we're just grateful to be level with them after yesterday
Tuesday will be very interesting.... |

I wonder if they're starting to feel the pressure now. In their last 5 league matches, they've won two, lost two and drawn one. They've shown signs of feeling the heat, and thank god for it.
Whereas, yesterday was our first defeat in the league in nine matches (since the City match which was two months ago). We won't get too many let-offs though I'd imagine so let's hope it doesn't happen again. Hopefully the scousers will get something at City on Tuesday, and fingers crossed we beat Newcastle. |

I think the fact we are joint top with the injuries we have had plus the less than great performances in several games is actually quite good. If we can get most players back soon and start to play well we should be right in there all the way.

We can thank our lucky stars they lost to Sunderland otherwise I think City would be out of sight soon. We can still do it but we need to play a hell of a lot better, get injured players back and hope City hit a bad patch. I still think it is City's league to lose this year.

To win the league we're going to have to win atleast 2 big away games at City, Spurs, Arsenal or Chelsea...tough ask but if we're to stand any chance that's the postition we've put ourselves in with the Blackburn loss.
City on the other hand only have Arsenal away as a 'tough' away game. I think the leagues theres this year if I'm being honest. |

Huge chance City will be celebrating in the cameras like mad after full time somewhere in May.
We are unpredictable and suffer from too many injuries. I honestly am nervous wondering what United to expect now at the start of every new game, whether it's against rubbish or good teams. This, in combination with the rest of the fixture list, it's going to be a big ask. |

I think there's going to be scope for good mind games with Mancini as the clock ticks down. I think he's going to struggle with the pressure, it'll be Rafa or Keaganesque.

I'd certainly rather be in the bitters' shoes points and fixture wise at the moment - we just have to eke out results anyway we can over the next 6 weeks , I just can't see City dropping many points at all in that period - here's hoping though..
