The quality isn't very good BUT... here are the full highlights of Mark Hughes' full debut for United, in four parts:
30th November 1983 Milk Cup 4th Round Oxford United 1 - 1 Manchester United Part One: Part Two: Part Three: http://youtube.com/watch?v=-qCuemnOmog and Part Four: Last edited by Steev; 8th August 2007 at 23:46. Reason: part three didn't work for some reason |

Inspired by TomClare's recent posts, here are the highlights of two of Utd's games at the end of the 1956-57 season. It's fascinating to see some of the players Tom was taking about in action.
25th April 1957 European Cup Semi-Final 2nd Leg (1st leg 1 - 3) Manchester United 2 - 2 Real Madrid Unfortunately the second United goal is missing 4th May 1957 FA Cup Final Manchester United 1 - 2 Aston Villa The link to TomClare's thread about Tommy Taylor (the goalscorer against Aston Villa, above) is here: 50 YEARS ON - "The Smiling Executioner" Last edited by Steev; 14th August 2007 at 20:04. From Wikipedia:
Substitutions during English league matches were first permitted in the 1965-66 season. During the first two seasons after the law was introduced, each side was permitted only one substitution during a game. Moreover the substitute could only replace an injured player. From the 1967-68 season, this rule was relaxed to allow substitutions for tactical reasons. So I guess they didn't have subs in '57. Shame O'Shea wasn't playing... |
