He has scored goals at every place he has been so far. The Premier League is surely the next test for him.

Would be good if we can get him in as 4th striker next season. Seems the type of player we could rely on for the role, its just a case of whether he can perform in our league.

Saha out, a quality striker in, then Manucho as number 4 with Wellbeck going on loan to maybe a bottom half team in order to get him some first team premiership experience. Otherwise, work permit depending, we can keep Wellbeck as number 4 while Manucho stays on loan.

I think we could be in for a pretty simple summer in terms of transfer activity to be honest, thankfully.

Who would be number 3 if Saha left?

I think Fergie will have a good crack at getting Benzema or Berbatov in to be honest, but who knows what he has planned. I think he'll spend big on a striker though. Then i'd assume he'd rotate often between Rooney, Tevez and this new striker, with number 4 acting as a backup and spend a lot of the season on the bench, which is why i think Manucho or Wellbeck would be suitable for that role for about a season. The 7 subs rule is good because it allows to effectively have 4 strikers in the squad.

Something like this next season is what i'd expect.

Rooney, Tevez, New striker, Wellbeck/Manucho.

I wouldn't complain about that as long whoever is brought in (if anyone at all) is of the required quality.

Like i said though, none of us know for sure what Fergie has planned. He could bring in two strikers or none all, i just think line-up above is what is likely. Allows him to spend big on one striker, especially with what we'll get for Saha (which may be feck all, but hopefully a decent amount off someone willing to gamble on his injury problems) and that would probably be it for the spending unless we do go for a right back as well.

Manchester United Recall Manucho
Manchester United have told Manucho Gonçalves that he is expected at Old Trafford at the end of the season.
The Angolan international signed a three-year deal with Manchester United in January after impressing on trial, but complications in obtaining a work permit saw playing opportunities at the British outfit denied.
Manucho would eventually be loaned out to Greek side Panathinaikos to get more European football experience under his belt.

The 25-year-old has impressed since joining the Athens-based club on loan, having scored a brace during last weekend's match against Panionios for the Super League Playoffs.

He has now been given the green light to return to the Red Devils and is reported to be confident that he will finally get his chance at Old Trafford.

Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson has indicated that the club will work hard in the summer to get a work permit for Manucho as the Scottish tactician seems to believe in the Angolan's potential.

Cheers Cantona. Hope he gets a work permit, obviously, but i can't shake the feeling that it'd be better for everyone if he fecked off to France for a year to adapt to European football. The chances that he'll slip straight into our team are pretty small.

Don't get too excited folks. It's from goal.com, there are no quotes, and the story has not been picked up by any reliable media outlet.

But in the meantime, there are still a couple more playoff games for Panathinaikos, so he may yet score another goal or two before the summer.

Manucho back in Manchester

From a Russian news site, with the following quotes:

"It's excellent news! I've dreamed of playing for Manchester United since the moment I signed. I hope to take this opportunity to prove that I can play in the Premiership. During my time in Greece, I've felt that I've adapted to European football. It was a good test for me to undertake prior to beginning to play in England."

Bullshit. Manucho is a level above even the likes of Pele and Cruyff.

Okay, I admit it now seems legitimate, it's on Setanta and Sky. Three more playoff games to go, Wednesday (h), Sunday (h), Wednesday (a) to determine European placement. They've won two and drawn one of the three previous playoff matches, so they still might qualify for the Champions League (qualifying rounds) in the fall.

Three WC qualifiers in June for Angola as well, June 1, 8, 14. Hopefully playing in those qualifiers will take him closer to the 75% mark needed for a work permit.

He'll take time to settle in and will be used as a striker from the bench. But he offers us something none of our forward players have, he could well be a genius signing.

Did Pele or Cuyff ever score two goals in a game for Panathinaikos? Did they fuck!

I don't know whether people are still being sarcastic or not?

Chances of Manucho being a success at United are less than 10%.

Chances of Benzema being a success at United greater than 85% (chances of getting Benzema from Lyon are less than 5% though).

Did you use Essiens calculator to work that out?

Benzema is proven quality at the age of 21, while Manucho is extremely unlikely to suddenly turn into a CL quality striker at the age of 25.

While Manucho is worth a gamble as he is so cheap, it's still a long-shot that he will be playing in our first XI a lot.

If we got Benzema he would cost a fortune but he'd be playing in nearly all our games. The guy is perfect for our play.

Manucho is exactly the striker we need. He's an
