So we've established that Wenger is the premier league press conference champion and the peterstorey can't go 2 posts without trying to say Arsenal are better at something than United, is there any chance this thread can go back to being about Nani?

That's for sure. Waiting for your superior to die of old age is a career strategy that takes a freakish amount of patience.

Only if we're talking about the annual Ellen MacArthur lookalike competition.

Arsenal fan in claiming a game they lost was unimportant shocker.

You say that, but I seem to remember you lot going on an incredibly embarrassing run of form after that game (you were top of the table prior to this) - the highlight of which was a fairly amusing Gallas strop in the middle of the pitch after the Birmingham game in which Eduardo got injured.

I'd say that, between that game and the subsequent Birmingham one, you made a right cock up of that season.

We beat Milan in the Champions league right after that.

You're doing it wrong KE, they lost so the game is immediately rendered unimportant.

Like the games they lost in the 'season they went undefeated'

What happened after that?

We only went unbeaten in the league, which no one has done since Preston in 1889, everybody knows that.

After looking, I've found that you went and dropped points to Birmingham, Villa, Wigan, Middlesborough and Chelsea.

Yep, but those pesky other competitions don't matter anyway. Unless you win them of course, then they are glorious.

They also lost again to ourselves, and fairly heavily in the Champions League to Liverpool.

All of which had to do with squad depth rather than being eliminated from an unimportant comp.

Indeed.

If you lot had smashed us 4-0, there would've been nothing unimportant about it.

As it stands, on the surface of things, that game looked very much like a catalyst for an almighty, unrivalled set of bottling. From being top for almost the entirety of the season, and also well placed in the Champions League, Arsenal were knocked out of the Champions League by the victims and also slid down to third place in the league, winning nothing but the "Well, our manager is more civilised than yours during press conferences" award.

...which is quite an impressive achievement, admittedly.

It's quite good I can't work out if the clunking Lampard makes it better or he needs a more classical name.

Storey is slowly losing it.

As Arsenal swing from failure to failure, it becomes less and less about the winning, and more and more about who has the most throw-ins, who does the best press conferences, and who has the best women's team.

I've got no problem if he has an 'average' game if he still gets an assist and the match winner. The lad's a fucking talent.
