New scapegoat needed

Now that O'Shea and Gibson have both move on, and with Fletcher currently out ill, who is the fans choice to become the new scapegoat when things go wrong?

For the usual suspects, it will still be Berbatov.

Gibson's just been sold to Everton for £1m and you still can't accept he was never a 'scapegoat' but quite simply wasn't good enough.

I prefer the term I saw on RAWK once, when a fan complained about Kuyt being a 'scrape goat.' Also, a 'pre madonna.'

I think this season has already proved that Fergie is the new scapegoat of choice.

In order, it will be:

1. Park
2. Evans
3. Young
4. De Gea
5. Rio.
6. Evra

That's the great thing about scapegoats. You can never run out of them.

One bad performance by Carrick and he'll go back to being Micheal "sideway" Carrick

Park has never been as much of a scapegoat as Evans or Berbatov.

Think people will go at Evans with unreserved gusto now... the problem is, he just looks like a scapegoat... physically. I think it's his eyes... or hair.

Evans has always been the spiritual successor to Gibson.

This season, I have mainly used Park as my scapegoat of choice.

His habit of getting pushed off the ball and the fact I have more threat in front of goal than he does makes him an ideal candidate imo.

Personally I think we're well covered for scapegoats and that's why we can afford to let Gibson go.

Evans/Carrick/Berbatov are your stalwarts in all departments. Rio/Park are adequate cover for the first 2 but we've seen a decent swing towards Hernandez this season and there's plenty of reasons to use Rooney here if caught short.

The less said about the GK department the better.

Guess it will be Evans.Playing in a position where mistakes are highlighted does not help.

Evans-Berbatov-Park

Despite our decline since O'shea and Brown have left, I expect to read many people ask SAF to sell these players as soon as possible.

Both goalies and Young will come in for signings that prove we are skint and cant afford world class players.

off course he was a scapegoat when he played. Didn't matter if the whole team played shit, it all began and ended with Gibson

If Gibson had played 30 times this season, he would have been "worth" a lot more.
