For some reason I'd be far more gutted if we lost the CL final, dunno why really, been trying to figure out a logical reason, but it's just a gut instinct really.

I always tend to prioritise the league over the CL but I'm not sure this time around since we are so close to both. It would be great for United and this squad to win the CL.

Saying that though I would be absolutely gutted if we lost out on the prem to chelsea, whereas a CL final wouldn't make me feel as bad as that. So I guess its the league then - seen as that is the basis of our football season - whilst the other cups are extras.

Good job we have the best possibility of BOTH.

winning the Cl would feel better than winning the league.

however losing the league would feel much much worse than losing the CL final.

i think i'll have to side with the league for the sake of emotional damage control (that and the next year we get to tie the scousers if we win it this year, which means we can potentially overtake the scousers before the decade is over).

The main point in me doing this thread was I wanted to see the contrasting views from different United supporters; my personal preference would be for the Champions League for many reasons; we have won it scandalously only twice, the fiftieth anniversary of the Munich Air Disaster and the fact we’re playing English opposition which would make defeat hard to take are the main ones.
Despite being hugely disappointed if we were to lose the league to Chelsea at this stage, Europe would be it for me.

I think youre on to something there. It is similar in a way to how I felt about the other CL semi final:

Beating Liverpool in the final would be better than beating Chelsea.

Losing to Liverpool in the final would be more unbearable than losing to Chelsea.

So what do you do? Go for the ultimate high, or protect yourself from the ultimate pain?

Earlier I couldnt pick one but now I think Im gravitating towards wanting the CL more. As others have said, we just have not won that cup enough times, we have to put it right.

But Chelsea stand in the way of the CL Cup whereas it's Wigan for the Premiership. Which, let's face it, is an easier prospect. So if we blow one, it will probably be the CL.
