Obviously it's a point gained from an "as good as lost" position.
Like most people, going into today's game I was optimistic and expected us to win based not least on Chelsea's shuffled back four. But you can't really "drop" points you never had ... at nil-nil we had a point and at the end of the day that's what we came home with. Now what we also came home renewed confidence that we still have what it takes rot come from behind ... and that's hard to measure. From a psychological perspective surely the draw was almost as good as a big win. Chelsea are devastated, AVB is a physical and mental wreck at the moment. The noisy neighbours are cursing too ... just when they thought they'd regained the 3 point lead Utd showed once again why we win so much and so often; we Never say Die! |

From a bad ref call in the first half to two flukey own goals to the fact we were the better team comfortably for the majority of the match it's hard not to feel it's 2 points lost, however it doesn't take away from thew brilliant comeback.

2 points dropped. Chelsea with makeshift defense, we controlled the game & 2 soft goals conceded. We should have won this easily. Before the second goal, De Gea was seen screaming for someone to mark Mata. 3rd goal, no one marking Luiz. There's nothing fluke about the 2 own goals. Defensively back 4 are very poor ( except Rafael)

After watching the match again, it's a definite two points dropped. Despite Mata's wonder goal, everything else was self-inflicted. We did well to come back and get ourselves a point but we shouldn't have even been in that position in the first place.

A draw at Stamford Bridge is a par result for a title-winning season. Losing would be points dropped, winning would be points gained. So the correct answer to the OP is neither.
Bearing in mind how the game panned out, though, all our players will feel like United gained a point yesterday. Ditto for the Chelsea/City players. |
