Boro and Blackburn are hard places to go.
We should have battered Blackburn as somebody said already, and a draw at Nou Camp is a good result. Chelsea also had everything to play for with home advantage on top of their unbeaten record. They were always going to be tough games, Wigan away any other day of the season would be a near formality, it most likely still will be but theres just added pressure which may change the game slightly and make it more intense. |

Unfortunately, so is the JJB. They haven't lost there since January and are unbeaten in their last 7 games at home.
![]() I still think the difference in intensity of approach between the two teams will be enough for us to win. For all of Brucie's talk about putting the effort in, for the integrity of the game and for a couple of million quid in prize money, there will only be one team out there ready to give absolutely everything in search of victory. And the team who wants the result more usually comes out on top. |

Brilliant - absolutely correct - We rarely go on winless runs. I'm sure you would have to go a long way back to find a long run without asn away win. Quote:

Fuck statistics. Our players will be up for this one. Wigan can't compare to the likes of Chelsea and Barca. How about posting statistics of our previous meetings against Wigan? If I'm not mistaken, we've never dropped a single point against them in the Premiership.

If we cant go to Wigan away and win when we need to we wont deserve to be champions. Im confident the lads wiil step up considering what is at stake.

I had a debate with my friend, who's a Chelsea fan, but we're both really down to earth about it. We still get on, even when we're rubbing results in eachothers faces, we still end up talking about everything calmly and usually agreeing. He's not arsed about our past records against them (Wigan), he's more relying on this "new" factor:
Prior to this season, Wigan Athletic had never taken a single point from the "big four" in the Premier League, but recent results have swung more their way: Liverpool 1-1 Wigan Wigan 0-0 Arsenal Chelsea 1-1 Wigan Now, that's the other three teams in the big four who've finally slipped up against Wigan after quite a few games. Now, this next fact can either go against us or for us depending how you look at it. Wigan lost to those three teams in the reverse fixtures, one away game, two home games. Man Utd beat Wigan 4-0 at Old Trafford, so it could be set in stone that United will slip up against Wigan to make Wigan's "taking points from the big four" spell complete. Liverpool 1-1 Wigan / Wigan 0-1 Liverpool Wigan 0-0 Arsenal / Arsenal 2-0 Wigan Chelsea 1-1 Wigan / Wigan 0-2 Chelsea Man Utd 4-0 Wigan / Wigan ?-? Man utd But obviously, all of this is just speculation. We beat them 4-0 at Old Trafford when we were in a bit of a slump, with our squeaky 1-0 wins, so now we can thrash them again in our away slump. ![]() |

We should take this game as a final. The bad thing is we need to win, if only we could take a draw and still be champions but that's not the situation. |

I honestly don't understand some of the negativity here. Aston Villa made life hell for Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool this season, and we beat them three times, putting four past them twice. So the fact Wigan done ok against our rivals means nothing. They didn't deserve a point at Chelsea, had one and a half shots at goal at Anfield and Arsenal were already during their league collapse when they came to JJB. They didn't suddenly become spectacular.
