From an interview about the derby:

Quote:
''It would have been very difficult to go inside the dressing room if we had drawn,'' Evra told MUTV. ''I think the manager would have given the hairdryer to everybody.

''But to score like that, in the last second of the game, was just amazing. The players on the bench were coming on the pitch, the fans, the atmosphere - this is why I say thanks to God I play in the Premier League and for United.''

Are we now watching the greatest United left back of all time?

I am even tempted to say, one of United's greatest players of all time.

Just sensational, and at times he's our best attacking player as well as defender.

On the path to United legend status

Shame he hasn't got a chant or anything. Really deserves one.

immense today. the badge thumping was excellent aswell.

like valencia with the right partner to give him excellent passes in tight spaces he can really put teams to the sword. absolutely bottled SWP except for one play for the whole match too.

I love Park and Evra. I'd love it if they joint managed United in the future, or just had a TV show really.

Be class to see them have a talk show. Tevez can stay the feck out of it.

Sorry if this has been posted, but yet another great Evra interview

Quote:
Evra: Alex is just like a little boy!

ALEX FERGUSON still dances up and down like a child if Manchester United notch up another victory.

At 68, the Scot's voracious hunger for silverware remains as keen as ever and he will not swap the adrenaline rush of triumph for anything until his dying breath.

That is according to French left-back Patrice Evra, who revealed the legendary Old Trafford boss jigged into the dressing room after his side beat hated rivals City in the Carling Cup semi-final last week.

He said: "Sir Alex is a child. We saw it against Manchester City. He's so passionate.

"He was jumping up and down like a child after that game.

"You could be forgiven for thinking he'd never won a game before!

"At 70, he doesn't see himself taking it easy at home reading a book or watching TV. Personally I think that would bore him.

"I don't think he will call an end to his career. As long as he's strong he will carry on.

"He will stay until his last breath."

United's 3-1 victory at Arsenal on Sunday put them on course for an unprecedented fourth straight championship.

Yet Evra says Fergie keeps his superstars' feet firmly on the ground - whatever they achieve.

He said: "Manchester United is a factory workers' club. You have to respect that culture.

"It's a club where we work hard. They will not congratulate you after each win. Sir Alex frequently says 'Well done my son' and that says it all.

"For them it's normal when you play a good game.

"It's normal to win the championship. It's Manchester United.

"We don't have the right to make mistakes."

And when mistakes are made, Fergie is showing no signs of mellowing, having lost none of his infamous temper.

As Evra revealed: "I do what I have to on the pitch. I'm not like Ferguson's son. But as soon as I'm not good, Ferguson will give me the 'hairdryer'.

"That he gave me the captain's armband is enormous.

"I am truly very proud to wear it. I didn't want to let him down."

Yet the most vital element of Fergie's reign is the team ethic - that keeps everyone in the star-studded dressing room in their place.

That is why Evra believes United got over the loss of £80million Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez, who joined City, so well.

Speaking to French TV station Canal+, Evra added: "We miss Cristiano and Tevez but the real star at United is the team. With Cristiano we relied on him in certain games.

"Today we need to do a bit more each of us to to create danger for our opponents."

When Evra retires, we should employ him as our official club spokesman.

He's a breath of fresh air in this rent-a-quote/drab cliche era.

A bit difficult to do that as a fullback don't you think? He stays back with corners and when we attack he creates goals which is what he is supposed to do. So no complains from me.

most played midweek, I thought rooney and evra were definate candidates for a rest. They also happen to be the two logging the most minutes on the team so far this season

Evra looks jaded. He's a terrific player, but there's just no way you can play someone in such a demanding position for 40+ games and expect him to keep playing at that high a level.

Hasnt scored since April 2007 against roma

I can't believe he doesn't get more goals, he's such an attacking threat from full back. Such a key player for us he can change the game from full back with one of his run's it tends to wake the other players up at times.

I think it's a scheme he could work on in training.Cut inside with his left and shoot with his right because he's fast and has got good dribbling ability.
