How long can we realistically put off buying a midfielder? This is essentially the last step we can take, before having to purchase in the summer - surely.
I love Scholes and if he feels he can play, then I'm behind him as ever I was, but the fact we've had to do this is poor foresight. |

Until Tom Cleverley comes back we really are. Fact of the matter is, and this was shown at Wembley last year, we got nobody besides Cleverley who has quick feet under pressure. The simplest harrying tactics are enough to take the midfielders we have off their game and pressure them into mistakes. Scholes offers you that something different in that the ball tends to stick to his feet and he can play his way out of trouble. Happy at this news.

Paul Pogba does not "like" this.
I love Scholes but surely we should be giving opportunities to players like Pogba if we are this desperate. No wonder he's considering leaving. Can't help but think this is just a distraction to get us excited about something. |

You know he's been staying in shape.
Didn't realize he was registered for the FA Cup, I guess that was the give away that spawned the article, didn't see it mentioned though. |

Maybe it's the fact that we already have a midfielder lined up, but the team is reluctant to sell him mid season. It could also be that Fergie was waiting for them to develop for another year before pushing for a purchase like he was looking to do with Jones before Liverpool and the likes started sniffing around.
