Does anyone have news on his recovery? Would he be doing much training?

Didn't watch the game but MEN's (notoriously unreliable) payer ratings have him down as the least impressive CM:

Quote:
Gibson: The Irishman has a calm Carrick-like head but didn’t fully stamp himself on game 6

Anderson: As you would expect he was influential against the championship side 7

Possebon: The Brazilian had a quiet game despite United’s dominance 5
From what I've seen in the reserves, his speciality is to sit deep, mop things up and play very simple passes. In a game in which we dominated, it's perhaps not surprising that his contribution would be overlooked.

The ratings in some of the papers had him quite low - a few 5's and 6's. First game back after injury though

Sounds like too many CMs playing.

Would have been a different story had Wellbeck started instead of Gibson. Why SAF thought it was a good idea to play 3 CMs at home against a championship side I don't know

The official site said that Anderson was in a much more attacking position, so it might have been a 4231 formation with Gibson and Rodrigo as the midfielders and Anderson up behind the striker.

I don't think any of us can have a proper opinion on the performance, formation and tactics until after we watch the game. Listening to Alan Green was completely pointless, the fat fuck.

Last night's matchday forum was hilarious. Not one cnut was actually watching the game but every second post was a criticism of the way we;d lined up, the tactics we were using and the performance of individual players.

Proper fecking houlllier stuff

Probably was it, although it makes no sense as from that position, you're meant to be good at shooting.

Probably wanted to test Tevez up front on his own against lesser opposition.

He was better than Gibson who did nothing much other than shoot.

He's a much better player than Gibson, as well as a few years younger.
