Its not just prize money. Think its everything assoiciated with the win. TV revenue, sponsorship deals as well as prize money.

Wouldn't be surprised if the final figure is some where in that region to be honest.

Aye, the Club World Cup started in its current format in 2005 and the prize money is $5 million (according to wiki anyway).

United will play Zenit St. Petersburg in the Super Cup in August.

80 million ?

Read in some article last week that the CL winner gets about 30 million which is less than what Derby who finished bottom of the table get from the Premiership

seems like I hit a nerve there, so we don't pay 83 mil pound on interest every year?

I *think* that its not 80 million for winning... i think the total prize money to the winner is 80million. If that makes sense.

So... say, we already generated 50mil through getting to the final through tv revenue, sponsorship etc etc and then you get a bonus 30mil by whatever means that makes the total package for winning it 80mil.

Thats the way i have interpreted it anyway.

Believe it or not, the prize money is kind of related to the Glazers, while some muppets are happy to be licking the glazers' arse for the prize money, they get so defensive when we point out the 'unimportant facts' such as the 83 mil on the interests.

Believe it or not, there are already a few threads about the Glazers, and the debt.

As far as I know, we get about £30m prize money from UEFA for winning the CL. The higher figure takes into account things like future sponsorship deals (AIG, Nike, etc. will pay more to be associated with the European Champions), player valuations (CL winning players are more expensive to purchase), merchandising, etc. And there's not that much difference in prize money between winning the CL (us) and coming in second (not us).

This is true.

Most of the figures are based on clauses written into contracts with our sponsors. The immediate prize money for the winners is approximately two million pounds more but the effect of winning the competition will be felt for a long time to come.

I think Ronaldo just became the worlds most marketable footballer and us the worlds most marketable (if we were not already) club, on top of this we are in a better bargaining position when selling our players as they now have a Champions League medal on their CV (not many can say that). So it is all very good for the coffers.

you missed the point mate. we don't want to talk about today. you have all summer to talk about this. today is just about recovering from last night and enjoying the moment.

Besides the debt is payable whether we finish 2oth in PL and nver make the CL. so, the extra 85m comes in useful - means we don't have to find it anywhere else

Bttt

UEFA figures released today -

United £33.9m
Chelsea £28.7m
Liverpool £21.1m

That's total money for TV, sponsorship and prize money.

So a £5m difference between Terry scoring and missing that penalty.
