Yep. Running the reserves is a stint worth of being second in command at United

You wish. I know enough to know he is a top quality coach. That's is why he works for United.

If Sir Alex think he's done a good job, and developed as a coach, I don't see why not.

So he is a top quality coach, but not good enough to be the assistant manager?

How good do you have to be to be the assistant manager, in your answer-to-everything-about-football manual?

Yes. Assistant managers do far more than coaches. They help over see most of the aspects of running the club from training, to tactics, to off the field living to future development for player and the club..transfers...name it... and they must be able to actually step in for the top dog if he is indisposed or on a care taker basis when he is leaving/being replaced.

As for coaches just coach. Which is train and develop players. Nothing else. That is why many coaches are great coaches and lousy assistants. Cause the jobs are different and managing, even at an assistant level, isn't for everyone.

The insight some Caftards have....

What do you know about McClair's or any other of the United staffs' tasks?

Are you an idiot in real life as well, or is it just a role you take upon yourself on football forums?

Chief, do you think a reserve team coach at Oxford United could ever be a success as "assistant manager" at United?

I reckon he'll name 10. And then justify his selection.

This coming from the air head who can't tell the difference between a coach and an assistant manager?

Are you really that social stunted in real life that you must try to look clever on the net, by being an arsehole? Especially when you are such an ignoramus?

Go to hell Cnut. I'm through discussing managers with some who has no clue what an assistant manager really is.

No, I look clever in real life as well.

An assistant manager is a glorified coach.

A coach with certain admin responsibility.

Are you losing it yet?

An assistant manager is the highest ranked coach at the club, after the manager.

Chief, I expected better from you.

You've spent a lot of time in this thread talking about great assistant managers. Yet you can't name 10? what about 5?
