Reclaim United!

reclaim united! FA CUP DAY

Two reds were sick of the atmosphere of new and fancied a laugh and a bit of fun to make Fulham in the FA Cup a bit better than the normal current run of the mill cup game. After all the FA Cup is what United fans were brought up to love! The two reds contacted Pete Boyle with a few ideas to make the day a bit more memorable and Pete as always wanted to help and has been very supportive in promoting the plan...

I just spotted the 'I'd rather be a muppet than a scouse' banner in there

Some great pics and videos of classic FA Cup days from our history, essential viewing for the kids on here who don't realise how important the cup used to be:

I really fancy coming to the game... my friends want to get me tickets as a birthday/engagement present, we wanted to do the Everton game but couldn't get any tickets but for this one there's still some available on the website. We've got a game on Sunday morning so we'd have to get a really early flight back to France to be on time there, so probably just go out after the match/catch a bit of sleep at the airport before takeoff... Could be fun, do you reckon the atmosphere will be really good?

Also, why does the bar scarf have to be old? A bar scarf is a bar scarf surely? There's hardly many variations of it...

That's official then, clearly we can't get behind this unless they sort out the current typeface.

I'd suggest Khumer UI... and a better shade of red.

Send a message via MSN to Utd heap
Fair play to those involved for trying to get something going.

5.30 KO so the atmosphere might be mildly respectable.
I'm sure the 1,400 Fulham fans who paid 45 quid for the privilige to be there will also be in fine voice.

Great idea, this. It's good to see the real, match-going fans trying to improve the atmosphere and make a big day out the match going experience.

I'd suggest a nice helvetica. I agree about the shade of red though that current one isn't great.

It's a good idea I agree but I don't think there'll be enough of them. Our main problem at OT is that the proper vocal support is so diluted throughout the stadium by your amateur photographers etc. If the stretty manages to pull it off it'll look great no doubt but I can't see it having too much impact overall.

they have to start somewhere, it may not be a big hit at first, but who's to say it won't snowball into something big and fun we could be proud of.

There's 9 of my footy team going to this.

I think there's a good chance the atmosphere will be better than normal y'know. Really looking forward to it.

I love that pic but I see a mirrored image of delusion with that banner proclaiming us best in the land not 3 years after relegation. Very modern day dipper like isnt it?

Great idea. Lets do butchers coats and bova boots, silk scarfs tied to your wrists and bring some old brass darts to chuck at the away fans.

the fact that this has only 33 replies just shows how few people on here actually go to games, which is very very sad.

I think we should address the shade of red on our kit first.

I really like our current home kit now.

Anyways, hoping for a good atmosphere but I have seen so many spares for this game floating about on here/twitter/friends that I am sceptical.

However, things like this will hoepfully gradually get people more involved

The number of replies in this thread has no connection to how many go to games - perhaps it is a smaller % than some other forums but there are still plenty of matchgoers on here, and likely to be a shitload who read but dont post as well.

What is sad is that many prefer to be negative rather than get behind initiatives like this to try and improve the atmosphere at OT.
