Ronaldo a win/win situation.
Well here we go same old Madrid singing the overtures again.
Well let's see Ronnie has a contract for 5 years, he is a prize asset is something special theres no one in the world like him right now. The next best thing since Best. He does things with the ball that make Ronaldhino look tame. He is a genius lets face it the guy will most probably go on and be rated up there with the aforementioned Best, Pele etc. So those comments, well lets face facts maybe he does want to play in Spain and who can blame him? He is young ambitious his home country is just over the border. If Madrid want to pay him £200,000 a week then he is probably worth it in this money driven game because they will get it back two fold from merchadising. Madrid are a big club 2nd to us of course because we are not corrupt. They will always be linked with the top players and will always be favorites for the latin quarter players because of the climate lifestyle etc. So I conclude his contract is a long one why would United sell? Even the Glazer's know he is a cash cow and although I can't stand the fact they plunged the club into debt they aren't about to sell the golden goose at just 23. So Ronaldo to leave? only way would be via a transfer request or if SAF believes he isn't going to play 100% any more just like others have left ie Beckham. I really can't see him shafting SAF or Querioz like that his fellow country man Nani, we have a really latin quality to the team now with Tevez, Anderson etc. Its reported that we are looking at Veloso as well, another fellow portugese player. Everything is geared up to him staying long term. Heres the win/win he stays glory to Ronaldo at United for at least 3-4 years to come. If he leaves well no worries thanks for the memories we cash in for a gazillion euros of Madrid's tainted cash. It wouldn't be the end far from it other greats have come and gone. It means we buy another winger and although there's not another player like him in the world there are pacey skillful players who take the berth on the right or left. Sign another striker in the mold of Berbatov and we would still be good for my money to kick Chelski's and Le Arse & challenge in europe. We still have the emerging Nani & Anderson and with focal point no longer being Ronaldo we would have Rooney and Tevez left with more space and time on the ball to do there thing. There have been times this season where I personally felt they shinned when Ronaldo was rested etc. So for me we can't loose Ronaldo goes Ronaldo stays. This is United the Club has always been and always will be bigger than the players. |

While SAF is seen as untouchable, and the last word on everything at the club, the Glazer's won't allow the first player whose transfer fee could be close to the £100m mark, to walk away for nothing. Selling club we may not be, but neither are we fools. The sums of money are too vast to persevere with an unhappy player, and lose a potential windfall in the bargain.

Are we gonna have so many of such threads every time Real Motherfuckers come out with their shit?
He's not leaving and that's that. Try to understand him or put yourself in his shoes. He's already said that he's staying thousands of time. What will you do if 50 different people ask you the same question everyday? Will you just say fuck it yes I'm leaving to join Real soon since they refuse to take no for an answer? It like a girl asking "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" "Are you mad at me?" "No" Yes! Now I fucking mad! |

Every now and again, having been asked it umpteen times, he snaps - as he did with Sky News. But look at what he's actually said. - Playing in Spain's a dream, but one that he might not want in reality. - He's flattered by the attention (Well, doh - imagine Ron liking that!) but likes playing for United - Only God knows the future. He's been saying the same things for the past two years. A couple of years ago it looked like he was on his way out; he probably thought he was on his way out - lousy season off the field and a lot of United fans still cynical about him on it and we know what happened next. Ever since he came back he's been telling the same story in almost exactly the same words. Sure it'd be nice if he changed the story. Even to a lie but he says his worst characteristic is stubborness and he's stubborn about this. He probably told his mum exactly the same story after she appeared on Spanish tele saying she'd like to see him playing in Madrid white before she dies - yeah, mum -that's my dream too, but I'm happy at United. In other news, this is ruining Real's shopping plans. For all the, "We can afford him," speeches they'll have to save their pennies if they're serious about landing a big one. |

Having said that, I've been making my own attempts to find positives should Ronaldo leave.
First, Rooney seems to play better when Ronaldo isn't around. I can't for the life of me find a plausible explanation for this, and I suspect it may have just been coincidence in the past. Second, and this isn't even really a reason, I don't like him that much. I like him because he's absurdly good. But the size of the discrepancy between how much I like him and how good he actually is says something to me. But however you dress it up, if Ronaldo leaves, we'll bring in an inferior player, and will be significantly worse off next season. |
