Freekicks can be beautiful but you're kind of expecting the kick to be on target more often than not so actually scoring doesn't always make my jaw drop. But when during the run of play a player takes a pop shot from 30 yards and scores a screamer that's amazing. It's just so "out of nowhere." You don't expect the player to take a shot and then bam... he scores a rocket. That's why I rate Nani and Tevez goals higher.

It meant we didn't need a result against Roma - so we could field a weakened team in Rome - so most of the players were rested prior to the Liverpool game. Only Rooney (just back from injury and deperate to be captain in Rome ) played both games.

Overall I would say Scholes' goal against Barca was our goal of the season. The significance, a winner against Barca at Old Trafford in a CL semi final, and the quality of the goal. Special moment.

That Nani one's probably the best i've seen this year at OT but then again, Tevez's first in that game was pretty special, too.

I had no idea what he did until i saw it again at half time! Unbelievable finish.
I still can't get over his goal against Roma, either. Wonderfully patient build up play, a gorgeous Rooney turn followed by a through ball to Scholesy who then plays a brilliantly weighted ball to Ronaldo. The timing, speed, leap and header itself were what can only be described as collosal. Breathtaking.

the technique used to score the freekick is what makes it special, there's nothing James could do to save it.

The Tevez goal against Boro where he and rooney combined was beautiful and so was Ronaldo's second goal against Newcastle at OT, brilliant build-ups finished off brilliantly.

Tevez v. Boro for pure class my goal of the year; As world class as that Ronaldo free kick was and several of his others, Hargreaves' v. Arsenal was just as unstoppable and came in a must win game late-on, god are United stacked when it comes to set piece selection
