Rooney Showboating???

Did anyone see Rooney's elastico on Alex Song

Bloody Spectacular, jus like dinho himself.

But is that any worse than Ronaldo or Nani's showboating???

Is it even Show boating?

How is it even showboating? He used a skill to get past a player, good bit of skill mind, and nicely executed.. but hardly 'spectacular'.

Uploaded if anyone wants to watch..

Thanks for uploading that, I didn't even notice that during the game. Nice skill.

And no, it's nowhere near showboating, he used the skill to get past Song in order to cross in.

splitting hairs. the only difference is that the ball is initially moving. it's practically the same skill.

It's not. If a correct elastico would allow you to take two touches it wouldn't be anything spectacular and hard about it. The hard thing about the elastico is to get the foot around the ball without losing contact between the ball and the foot.

Nice dribble nonetheless, but not an elastico.

Yes. Been checking out Rivelinho's elastico(inventor) on youtube and there's not much difference. . .as you said the difference is that ball was moving in the Rooney clip. Ronaldinho's elastico's fantastic, but fat Ronaldo's wasn't too bad either..

That isn't an elastico in my book, I could do better than that (not in an actual game though) the foot needs to stay in contact with the ball.
