Scholes - the goals

Just watched on Sky Sports 1. As Gary Lineker would say "just pick your best three". A great collection of goals from our little genius.

It's showing again at 10.30pm - not to be missed.

Hmm... that one straight from the Beckham corner would be hard to beat for pure aesthetics.

The Barcelona one was incredible, especially given the occasion.

There was another one quite recently... Fulham, was it?... where it came down to him from on high outside the area after a corner and he spanked it in. That was a beaut.

He's scored some clever and nippy ones but I like it best when he fucking belts them.

I liked the one he scored against Blackburn, probably cause I was sitting behind the goal when he danced past 3 players and scored

the goal against barca, the goal against villa from the edge of the box and the bradford goal were fantastic

my favourite scholes goals where the ones where he danced round a couple of defenders and scored

i remember the importance of the goal against blackburn (in 07?) - lovely goal

Barca one for me is the best. Because of the occasion and what it meant.

The ones against Villa and Bradford come to mind.

Barca in 07/08, for my other other two

Everton at home in 02/03. Picks up the ball in midfield, takes a touch towards goal and sees that no one is coming out to challenge him, and just cracks it in off the underside of the bar from 25+ yards.

Boro away in 99/00. Perfection in a goal, absolutely unstoppable.

Yeah me too, you could tell the team was ready to explode Ronaldo had hit the post a couple of times, and Friedel was playing out of his mind. Then Scholes set the team on there way with a great effort.

Surprised no one has mentioned Milan away

I'm not sure I know the difference...do you have to be exceptionally fat to compete in Premier League darts?...Is there an Hawaiian shirt limit in the big leagues?

Just seen this on Sky. It's incredible how many of his goals are poachers tap ins, he's always kept that strikers instinct

Obviously he scores more than his fair share of absolute belters n all... my personal favourite... probably Barcelona. But in the league, that Bradford strike was special, and Villa of course. Those are goals Scholes scores - regularly - that no-one else does at all. Worth a shout is that Blackburn goal though a few years back. That was a massive goal in a game which looked like tripping us up, and if we'd dropped points... how the course of history might have changed. The composure Scholes shows ensuring he creates enough space to get away the strike he wants... simply awesome. One hell of a player

The old man doesn't score as often as he did, but his goals are always important. Interestingly five of his six goals this season, all three last season and both the season before that were our first in the game.
