Being a dad would speed up Rooney's maturity process on the pitch as well. He'd probably stop doing most of the unnecessary challenges and maybe be more composed when finishing, which are his biggest flaws. More thought, less adrenaline.

At first his selection looked good. But..

(If memory serves me right, Ryan Giggs got more attention than Beckham in his early years. But he had no problem with it. Becks fucked it up.)
