So, where did you watch the game and how did you celebrate our title win
Me, I watched it in my local, had a few too many bevvies and was in no fit way to host a b-q in the evening, but a bottle of whisky was used to properly celebrate it all. I even shared some of it with my visitors.

I arrived at 12 at the local english pub, the Captain Cook. It was closed at this time, as it always is, so I used this as an alibi to send my girlfriend back home and get piss drunk with my mates at a nearby pub that was open.
We went back to the Cook for the game, and I celebrated the win by drinking champagne from the bottle for several hours and then running naked in the street that leads to my house. A nice little May afternoon. p.s. My girlfriend wasn't home when I arrived, I don't know where she is. |

Watched it with my cousins at my place.
Got ridiculously drunk starting after dinner at about 8 and through the match which started at midnight. I celebrated by jumping up and down on my lounge, falling off the back and almost breaking my neck. |

I got a lift up to my Dads and we got completely lashed
Appy daysI had planned to carry on drinking when I got home, but I fell asleep instead. Not to worry though, and MUCH to my wifes annoyance.... I woke up just in time to watch it all again on MOTD ![]() (it was only later that I realised why my opening statement of "excellent timing. stick the kettle on luv" didnt go down too well ) |

I watched it in a pub in town full of both United and Chelsea fans, the pub was completely divided into 2 sections, one side showing the United game and the other Chelsea.
It was hilarious seeing the Chelsea fans rush over to our side when we got the penalty and then seeing the look on their faces when Giggs scored. But what made it even more sweeter was the exit was on our side, so all the Chelsea fans had to do the walk of shame, priceless! I celebrated by getting shit faced and am still feeling the effects of my hang over today! |

in the desert with my mate and his son with a BUD (not the son) after a long nervous day at work shitting about the game, it was so intense that we had to refuse dinner on the lap in case it hit the roof when we scored.

Had a great big gathering at my place. Much alcohol was consumed to ease the nerves before the match started at 10pm. Much alcohol was consumed until the 80th minute of the match to again help ease the nerves. Much alcohol was consumed when Giggsy put the title in our hands. Wild celebrations erupted at the final minute resulting in much shouting, singing, hugging, groping and knocking things over. Much alcohol was consumed well into the night. Things blurred around 3am. Woke up on the floor in my hall the next morning with a terrible headache and all other discomforts associated with the mother of all hangovers. Couldn't really give a fuck, we were champions.

It was certainly the night for it. By my own admission, I'm rather fond of it, but even I can't honestly claim to have drunk that much that fast in a very long time. If a lethal combination of scotch and vodka chasers for the large part of the night wasn't enough, someone whipped up a steady batch of mojitos after the game. I thought I had died and gone to heaven.

I watched at home....clapped continuously when Ronaldo scored the penalty and shouted "we have won the Fucking Title" so loud and so often after Giggs scored...I scared the dog and my wife came running down to see what was happening...
oh and I almost passed out with excitment and release of nervous energy.... |

At my friend's parents' house in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, the day after we were in our other friend's wedding party. His dad was actually showing me the urn in which their dead cat's ashes are kept during second half stoppage time (I'm not kidding). Watched the first match of the year at OT; quite a different venue for this one.

Called in sick at work, and watched it at home with my flatmate. Celebrated solemnly myself, just reflected on the season, relieved it all ended well in the end. I'm not a drinker myself anyway.
Then i went back to my dissertation ![]() |
