Summer let down
Hey Peeps
Is it just me... or this summer turning out to be a major antic-climax ![]() "I" brought trophy back from a glorious trip to Moscow (as instructed!)... We ought to be revelling in our status as EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS... but... why is there a "but" ![]() but... Ronaldo saga aside (and Querioz I guess) what's going on ?? Where's the flood of top notch players beating down the doors of OT to join the band wagon ?? Where's the optimisim of a glorious season to come? Where's the pumped out chests of gloating Cafe members?? Its all very odd ![]() |

Boo fucking hoo.
There's still over a full month until the season starts. Clearly a failure to sign atleast four world class players is a failing on the part of Ferguson .Where exactly are these new players all supposed to fit? The euphoria of a Double still delights me. Just watch the DVD again! |

It was probably always going to happen. Last summer: Hargreaves, Nani, Anderson, Tevez
Would be hard to beat that. In saying that we've brought in three good young prospects (the Italian lad) and the Brazilian fullbacks and if he gets his work permit Manucho if we lose carlos will be a shame but we'll move on. Ronaldo looks like staying It's been a pretty quiet period for most clubs, deco aside being the biggest deal. We'll bring someone in and when we do it'll start getting interesting no worries |

We don't need massive new squad investment. We have Evans in for Pique. Therefore we are the same as last season. A striker will do. God knows where the rest of these players everyone seems to want would fit. |

Well, I've started off the summer by watching most of the older season reviews posted on the video thread (great stuff, anyone has the rest?). Then I nearly died of pain one night and found out I had a kidney stone, which I've proudly been carrying for over a week. Infection, pain, fever and all. I call it Ronaldo.

Last seasons triumph will truely kick in again when we start the new season, I'm sure of that
Summer started off crap with the ridiculous decision not to have a parade. Ronaldo has given us a dreary saga, in which the end result looks like he's sullied his reputation with the fans for no particular good reason. Overall, just like any summer, its crap because there's no football. Yes there's international football every other year, and I love it, but it isn't the same I'm half torn whether a new signing would be good or bad. We badly need a new striker for me, but at the same time, with Chelsea spending left right and centre, the Scouse ploughing money on the usual average dross no better than what they let go, and City having fantasies of Brazilian grandure... wouldn't it be great to retain the league again next season without strengthening? |

Anderson would have been a priority signing this summer but United went for him last season instead of waiting. He was signed a year ahead of schedule not knowing whether he had fully recovered from his leg break in order to stop Chelsea and Barcelona going for him now.
