Id rather be playing Fulham. It's all a bit unnecessary if you ask me.

Agree. We already know we're a better team, so just give them a runners up medal and carry on with the Premiership.

Posh Charity Shield.

However its still good for the club, millions tune in & watch it. I want to see how good this £26million Danny bloke is, if he's playing?

I don't mind, just another reminder we are European Champions. It's not like we're playing this every year plus I loved John Terry's look of grimace that we were playing Zenit and not Chelsea and it's all his fault.

Do you mean lark or malarky? I don't like your cavalier attitude towards the English language!

We could win double the amount of useless trophies in 3 weeks that Newcastle has (Intertoto) in 30 years.

you never know one day clubs might be viewed on how many super cups they win. I reckon if a club won it a few times on a trot in years to come it'd look good on the old cv

The european cup was much the same once, it wasn't what it is now. |Granted it's just a game but you gotta win in europe to play in it so let's just win it and get confidence from that going into the games we got coming up

I'm actually looking forward to it. And this time it could prove to be a blessing in disguise with it being a good chance for the likes of Hargreaves, Neville and Park to get some minutes.

I'd rather have the problem of a one-off match for a trophy than not.

And anyway its not every season we get to play in the Super-Cup, meaningless or not its another reminder to everyone we're European Champions.

He may well be 'cool' but his use of English is at a sub-Bush level.

Here's an example I came across this morning:

There's a good looking trophy on the line and Fergie doesn't have it so I say go for it.. But I don't want to see for example Rooney, Rio or Evra playing whole 90mins ´cause they have a tight schedule coming up..

I'm sorry, but this is utter utter rubbish.

The Super Cup's been around for a long time. It used to be played over 2 legs. But there wasn't enough interest (23,000 at OT in '91 ffs) so they stopped that. It's diminishing in value, not increasing.

I dont care what anyone says. This match is important to me. There is a trophy at stake that we havent even won. It took us 9 years to get another opportunity at it and we must take it.
