Apropos of nothing at all, a couple of years ago, my mate was in Kilkenny overnight for business. He was at a loose end, and Kilkenny City were playing that evening, so he went along. He sat down in the stand, and there were only a few others there. An old bloke came in and said to my mate, "that's my seat", even though there were hundreds free all around him. My mate got up, and moved a couple of seats along. The old bloke sat there giving my mate the evils for the entirety of the game. He said it was like he was in the Irish version of deliverance.

Our Own Rooney Set To Choose ROI
Monday 14 Apr 2008 16:47:52 by GaryJ

Young John Rooney has made the step up from the Youth team to the First team bench over the past few weeks and according to Keith Alexander, he could be a big star for the Silkmen next season.

According to some reports, John is expected to snub England for his international allegiance and opt to play for the Republic of Ireland.

On Saturday his big brother Wayne came to watch him at the Moss Rose along with his cousin Tommy who once played for Macc a couple of seasons ago.
I wonder if Rooney was around in Big Jacks time, Pogue, would he have chosen to play for us?

I doubt it.

He wouldn't fancy being a lone front-man, with the team hoofing long balls for him to try and win in the air.

Oh, hold on...

"UP DOWN" - always loved that flag!

Down have a great history in Ulster football, i generally support all the teams in Ulster when they play the other provinces!

The '94 Down team with big Pete McGrath and Micky Linden etc.. was a lovely team, not too mention the team of the 60's - most successful team from Ulster, so big respect all round for that!

First round of the Championship eh - Tyrone arent playing great but McGuigan back and playin a full 70mins is wicked news & he played well, more importantly, so it should be a good game & good luck with that!

Oh stop giving young players to those Aussie cunts aswell

There were a couple of old Irish cunts sat behind us yesterday kept tapping me on the shoulder and telling me to sit down then when we ignored them started shouting it proper loud Everyone just abused them, soon shut them up, I've never seen them before so obviously not season ticket holders.

On the other hand there's an Irish lad who sits next to us and he's a 'top red' always singing and he seems to know more about football than most of the mancs around us.

Bunch of Aussie fuck bags eh!!

Dont know why they want to continue with this hybrid game, when the boys are just gonna get a whoopin again!

Dont get me wrong, its a great idea & i loved it, but over past few years its embarassing to say the least and makes my blood boil that professionals would act in such disregard to an Amateur Association of sportsmen like the GAA!

But the players will get a holiday & experience of playing for Ireland, a competitive international which is what its all about, but not keen on some of our boys gettin seriously hurt!

Everyone at OT is Irish these days. Even the ones who don't sound irish, secretly are.

They're more of a laugh than you mancs though. You lot always look so miserable. Plus you all have exactly the same shaped face

Irish is such a generalistion , don't tar me and them northern types with the same brush ... they are barbarians that lot ... except for the belfast boys , they are downright sophisticated compared to your average Ulsterman.

And as for the genius with the 'Up Down' flag, he is my favourite nordy after Bestie and Van Morrison.
