Many thanks Red Issue.

She should be shot. Her idea of humour is to make a 'joke' in a pidgin North Dublin accent, and then cackle uncontrollably. At her own joke. Her personality alone is her most effective contraceptive. And Jason Byrne is a cunt too while we're nowhere near the subject....

You should ask for the name back, that usually pans out well.

Dont get me wrong, its a great idea & i loved it, but over past few years its embarassing to say the least and makes my blood boil that professionals would act in such disregard to an Amateur Association of sportsmen like the GAA!

But the players will get a holiday & experience of playing for Ireland, a competitive international which is what its all about, but not keen on some of our boys gettin seriously hurt!

TBH Red Hand I dont think they are that much bigger or stronger than us, they just were naturally dirty bastards and their game is more aggressive than the GAA! I think if our boys went out just to batter them they would ! Plus it wasnt all that one sided, I saw some aussies get a hammering too!

I'm northern irish and was in 3106 for the Roma game. Didn't notice a thing to be honest though I was too busy concentrating on the game and signing so not surprised.

And most English Manchester United fans (including mancunians) need to ask themselves, is MUFC really the most local team to where they live? Or are they other, lower league, teams which might actually be closer to their home?

It seems harsh to criticise Irish people for being willing to travel a bit, for the opportunity to watch football that is infinitely better than their "local team" when English blokes do the same almost every weekend.
Expecting a sane opinion from RI is like expecting Wenger to see something that one of his players did wrong.

I've not seen so many Irish in one place since the last time it was my round

I have no issue with the Irish at OT, but I would say this. That contention that many an Irish folk comes to the game as a 'daytripper' is accurate. Now I'm surrounded by Irish folk where I sit, one off this forum, and they all go regularly and are sound folk, get involved with the atmosphere, which is a lot more than can be said for many in my section. But I also see plenty who don't act like this. And I wonder why people single out the Asians as daytripper types who ruin the OT atmosphere when there are probably far more Irish at each game acting in an entirely similar way

United's links with Ireland are deep and true. And on this forum I think anything seen as remotely anti-Irish will lead to the voodoo pins going in the sculpted potato. So, count to 10 and take a deep breath:

I don't like people who claim to support both United and Celtic - pick one or the other, make a decision, United is not Celtic, we are a totally different club. You can't have two wives, fucking marry one or the other. United first or fuck off.

Now I've calmed down, have you seen geezers at Anfield wearing a half Liverpool scarf, and half Celtic? And geezers at our place wearing half United and half Celtic? See a problem there? Make a fucking decision, United or fuck off.

Possibly repeated, but at least I didn't say Cunt.

Fucking hell that RI thread is fairly strong. I didn't realise people thought that way about the Irish. I'm not that bothered tbh.

But I kinda fail to understand this whole "why do the Irish support an English club" attitude. Where the hell would United be if it wasn't for its Irish and Scottish links? I wonder how many of those lads on RI would even be United supporters if it wasn't for the success that people like Keane, Best, Law, Busby or Ferguson helped to bring to the club.

There may be a lot of Irish daytrippers but it's only because there is such an affinity here with the club.

As a matter of interest do any of them have an issue with foreign players playing at OT? Surely if support should be all local, then the players should also be all local..

Is it not a bit hypocritical to complain about Irish fans at OT while saying say Keano was the best captain Utd have had in living memory. Cantona was French, do French fans get their blessing? I presume they think Ronaldo should fuck off back to Portugal, and likewise, Rooney back to Everton and Rio back to somewhere in London...

Dude, United was very nearly called Manchester Celtic before they decided on Manchester United!

Sorry man, i have to disagree with you there regarding the Aussies not being much better or stronger than us.

I've said for a good few years, that if the Aussies get their game sorted then they'll take us apart either home or away, because their fitness levels are immense but their ball-game needed looked at, but they've got both working in tandem now, in fact - some of the football they played against us at Croker (went to that) was fantastic - as much as it pains me to say it!

The Irish lads just dont have the ability to tackle & that goes hand in hand with Aussie rules, its actually totally against our way of playing Gaelic so the Aussies have the upper-hand in that regard!

Off-the-ball tackles were psychologically damaging for our lads, they got intimidated big time, the Aussies are much bigger on average & in that sense over-power our boys - Irish ball-players arent used to that sort of aggression from much bigger "steroid abusing" Aussie rules players, so of course its a culture shock to many of them!

If you look at our roughest son-of-a-bitch Graham Geraghty - he got his bollox knocked out several times & one incident also ended his participation, but take a look at the Aussies - there is Geraghty's all over their squad & much nastier bastards too - we cant compete if it comes down to rough-house tactics - we're just not built for that game - Gaelic football is a past-paced flowing game - where the Aussie game is one based on marking the ball & of course running the ball also...

The new rule changes might even things up a bit, but only in terms of having Aussie fuckbags being sent-off. On the footballing sense i dont think Pete McGrath is right for the job, not sure if he's even still the team manager.

Personally, i think we need to get Rugby coaches involved also, especially for the tackle. You cant have a Gaelic coach tell you how to fuckin tackle if its illegal in our game - he wont know, he might think he does but we need professionals who's area of expertise is tackling and injury prevention for making a tackle!

Anyway - Long Live Ireland - fuck Skippy the stupid cunt

Yeah, you'd think most of the Dubs were actually working in the pubs before a game at Croker - judging by how long it takes to get them outta the feckin place!

You's dont do yourselves any favours with the rest of the country - but i guess its quite clear you dont give a fuck, so in return you cant really be that irritated by the phrase "Dublin versus 31 Counties"....

There's a better flag, its a Tyrone one which reads "OUR MA IS A TYRONE FAN..." as in Armagh for those not versed on all things Irish!

Yes indeed say I, surreptitiously trying to move the thread away from the Irish a bit, doesn't Fergie himself cross the boundaries, him being one religion and his wife the other? And I don't care which is which, so don't tell me. Perhaps that's the answer, a law prohibiting anyone marrying into the same religion. I did my bit by marrying a scouser. I know, I was young and foolish.

Hey Brother!!

I applaud you kind Sir, in clarifying your present status of not being affiliated to Dublin Gaelic Football....

.... i also wish to clarify, that although it may seem, that i'm putting the boot into Dublin GAA - it is much less worse than putting the head into Tommy Freeman, as did your statistician / team video analyst Ray Boyne, not too long long ago

Damn.... i've given it away.... yeah..... you've guessed it - Fergie's a Jew and Cathy's a Muslim

Are you slagging the dubs for staying in the boozer? Perfectly acceptable behaviour when you're in your own town.

Just cos you lot wouldn't spend christmas when you come down and would rather push your 4x4 back up to Ulster rather than buy some diesel in Dublin. Eating your sandwiches out of the boot of the jammer before the game. I see you.
