Tevez: Deep down in my little brain I know i made a BIG mistake

Is he that unhappy at City that he has to keep talking about United?

Quote:
Manchester United Blog | Stretty Ender | Tevez is at it again!

Carlos Tevez has once again shown his complete lack of intelligence by insisting he didn’t deserve to be booed by Manchester United fans.

“Obviously I was disappointed, because I don’t think I deserved to be treated that way. When I was there, I was a hard-working and loyal player who gave my all,” he told The Sun."

The Argentine Labrador worked hard for us, scored some vital goals at vital times and was a valued squad player, but nobody can sign for our bitter rivals (bitter being the key word for those giddy fans) directly after leaving us and hope to be welcomed back to Old Trafford with open arms.

On top of that, he also slated our manager publicly on several occasions, promising to celebrate right in front of his face if he scored against us at OT.

Respecting the fans and respecting the manager go hand in hand. Claiming to respect the fans while simultaneously insulting our manager is a contradiction in terms and something Tevez has failed to grasp since leaving the club.

If he wants respect he should stop mouthing off about how badly he was treated. He won two Premier League winners medals and a Champions League winners medal during his two seasons at the club, so he doesn’t really have a leg to stand on.

On a somewhat unrelated note, his statistics at City are proving that Fergie was right not to shell out £25 million on him.

He has scored in just one Premier League game so far, the rest of his goals (a massive five in total) have come in the Carling Cup against inferior opposition.

His five goals in 1258 minutes give him a goal every 252 minutes.

Michael Owen’s four goals in 687 minutes give him a goal every 172 minutes.

I think it’s now safe to say that we got the better deal.

A goal every two games from Owen is quite a decent looking stat. Can't complain about that, and with only a goal less with half the playing time i think it's very safe to say we've come out better in that respect.

Hes a bit of a tit, but a direct comparison of goals dosent really tell the whole story. For me tevez is a superior all round player and owen is a better goalscorer.

Added to which, Owen's scored some major goals: the winner in the derby, an important goal at CSKA, and others. He's linked up well in games, and his positioning for chances is top-notch, as well. I think we've definitely got the better deal, money considered.

If Tevez honestly doesn't understand us booing him, then he must be even thicker than I'd thought. The concept of rivalry and the fact that when you insult a club's much-loved manager, the fans won't instantly forget it afterwards. His comments were annoying at first, but now they're just tedious and tiresome. Citeh are more than welcome to him (until he retires, that is).

Yes, Tevez is a better player in the sense he can run around for longer and is younger so has more years ahead of him.

But if you think that Tevez is a better goalscorer than Owen then we have a big difference of opinion.

And to Great Hat, his passing around the box has been top notch as well. The liitle one-two he played with Welbeck was fantastic and he's shown that he won't be a detriment to our attacking play as some first thought.

Hasn't Owen scored just one league goal this season? I know he comes off the bench a lot but his finishing has generally looked ordinary.

2. Hes not been getting that many starts in the league, a run of games would sharpen his finishing up.

Tevez is a better player, Owen is a better goalscorer.

Also, Owen didn't cost us £25 million quid or whatever the sum was.

Looking at the stats it might look at bit weak, but knowing the full story (watching the games) you should know it's been a bit more than just 2 goals. He is that kind of player who gets you the big chances in the games because of his brain. How often do you see Berbatov end up one on one 10 minutes before the ball is being passed on? You can just smell there is something coming when Owen is sneaking around the defenders. This is his trademark and you don't even see players like Walcott or Lennon end up 10 meters ahead of the defenders out of nothing. Once he get his confidence up 100% he will score A LOT MORE. There has been about 4-5 goals that he normally nail, or at least what you expect of a premier league player of his status to do, and we all know that this potential is in him.

80% of his goals coming in the Carling Cup says it all really. Hard working, good shot but he isn't a great goal scorer and his game has many weaknesses.

Best bit of business getting rid of the Ogre. Can't fathom why anyone would want him. He's useless and his passing in poor. A poor man's Rooney and he plays for a poor man's Manchester.

He's a much better passer than Owen, so that's an odd thing to point out,

Funny that. From what I remember we adored him and even interupted SAF's speech to sing 'Fergie sign him up'

Plus getting rid of him wasn't a bit of business because we didn't make any money as he wasn't ours to sell.

When he played he got us goals which is more than can be said for Berbatov.

Face it if Rooney gets injured we are fucked.

I will only make one comment here, as people seem to hate me for some reason

I think its a little rich of the fans to be complaining about the player complaining, when they complained for the better part of the end of last season that he wasn't signed. If anything the fans encouraged him to say what he said.

I think Tevez has had a poor first season at City, he clearly isn't fit and isn't happy playing football. I do think though as the season goes and World cup gets closer he will massively improve. He is desperate to play well and make the Argie team, to do that he is going to have to improve form and fitness massively. I think we could see him improve massively.

I think also you can't expect vast amounts of goals from him. He was never bought for that purpose. He was bought to make chances and provide energy. Something which he is now starting to do for them from the odd game I have seen. That's right I am still a United fan

Nah, Imps is just voicing his opinion, and whilst I don't entirely agree, he has a point. Tevez played well for us; he hassled defenders, linked-up well with our other attackers, and scored some vital goals (especially in his first season). I wouldn't say he's worth the fee City have paid for him, and we got the better deal with Owen; money considered, but had he not slagged off the club repeatedly I could see myself missing the terrior-like approach he took to games for us. Shame he has a terrier-sized brain though, and can't keep quiet about United and Fergie.

Tevez is a much much better footballer than Owen. Pretty daft and childish to compare the two just because Tevez was (allegedly) given bad advice, and followed it for not having enough brain cells to reach the right decision on his own.

Tevez is not clinical in front og goal, but Owen hasn't been that convincing himself since joining us. Other than goalscoring I don't think there's any other part of his game where Owen gets anywhere near Tevez.

But then, one wouldv'e cost 25 million (plus ~100k a week) while the other cost nothing and only gets a cup of tea to keep him warm on the bench most of the time.

There's no denying he's made a complete twat out of himself since he joined city but if you strip out the hatred towards him and look at it logically he gave 100% into the little time he had on the pitch and he was desperate at one point to sign for us but imo he was kept in the dark.

The fans adored him. Argentina, Argentina, who's that man from Argentina, every game. That's because was the kind of player we love at OT. He gave 100% just like he did for West Ham and I'm sure he'll do the same for city.

He's a great player who took the wrong road and therefore burned his bridges with the united faithfull. He may have costs us 25m but it would still have been better value than Berbatov.

We should have wrapped up the deal last January rather than waiting till the last minute. I think we'll come to regret the day he left us.
