Tevez - Has SAF been vindicated?
I loved Tevez for all his effort in the last 2 seasons. Also, he endeared himself further by scoring some important goals. All of that said 25 million for a less than prolific goalscorer was something that I struggled to justify. I guess SAF was thinking the same and felt that at best Tevez was a 3rd or 4th striker in his rotation and was not good enough to be a regular starter for us.
In light of his outburst's and paltry goal return (something like 1 goal in 9 league games) I firmly believe that SAF's stance has been vindicated. Do you agree? |

He's not been in his striking position per-say since he's been there, alot of City fans consider his effort given like how we loved his "leave it all on the pitch" style of play.
But for what we WANTED from him, point proven. |

His form for the latter part of his West Ham career and his first year with us prove, in my view, that he's capable of being a £25mil striker at times. His form last year and so far for City prove, in my view, that we have better in Berbatov.
Plus when you consider it was Tevez for £25mil or Owen for free, there's no competition. I think Tevez is more than capable of being a better player on his day, but he's never worth £25mil more, especially as a 3rd choice striker. |

Said it all along he was a good footballer but not a great one ,alot of people gave him credit for his undying workrate which made up for his lack of talent. No sympathy for Tevez either the lying disloyal prick,SAF 100% vindicated as usual

I love it. My mates give me alot of stick about United as they're keen football fans but don't follow a team as fervently as I do, so they love a needle. All summer had to put up with the Tevez trash talk. One actually claimed he'd go on to be top scorer in the league this season! Now it's starting to hit home that Tevez is actually a bit shit and that my delight at us not signing him was infact, as much as it hurts them to recognise it, not an act.
There will be those that criticise SAF in the striker department still, and it'll linger until Berbatov and/or Owen are really firing. Or if we used £20-30m to buy a Pato! |

I can only echo what i said during last season. He's a good player at at 15million quid i' have been urging us to sign him but for a 30million quid striker when we already had Rooney and Berbatov i'm glad we didnt sign him.

I prefer Owen but Tevez is a very good player IMO. He is playing more as an attacking midfielder at City which explains to some degree his goal draught. He will have better moments, hopefully not against us.

I also struggled to justify paying that much money for Tevez. He did well in in a short space of time and won over the fans with his commitment. Fergie doesnt like to part with money easily and I could understand why he was hesitant to buy him outright. |

I didn't even want him at the club when some retards claimed that United had signed the better player when pool signed Torres. ecantona will back me up on this. Even got an awful tagline as a result of my so called "tevez hate". Love how people are taking off their rose tinted glasses.

How many matches/mins has he played this year for City? I think he was injured for a while right? I wish I could know his mins played for City and what he played for us at a similar point in the season last year.
As to if SAF has been vindicated , it is too early to tell, we sure will have done with his tenacity at times this years, just to get the crowd and the team going during those moment OT becomes so quite. I did not value Tevez necessarily for his goal scoring though he was supposed to be a striker, to me, when we had him and Rooney on the pitch, they brought so much energy and lifted the team on a consistent basis. After all, Tevez can say that in his short time with Manchester United, he took us to two CL finals. LOL |

he'd have been fine and dandy had he realised he wasnt as important to us as ronnie and rooney. the misguided belief that he was led to the problems imo which is a shame as i liked him. once he started spitting the dummy out when he was getting substituted the writing was on the door. and the writing said 'fuck off'.

Tevez is a vastly overrated player, it was only due to some important goals & being a fan favourite that his ability was never scrutinised.
That said i don't think Fergie was ever to blame in this situation, so i dont see why he should be vindicated as there was never an issue with Fergie. Tevez decided that money was more important & off he went. Now the replacement we have is someone who can do everything Tevez can, so much better & not whine when he's on the bench. |

As his time in England has progressed Tevez has played to the crowd more and more with his non-stop chasing down of defenders earning a cheap round of applause instead of concentrating on becoming an effective centre forward who can link up well with teammates.
Tevez has never been prolific but his game has deteriorated in my opinion since his time at Corinthians, West Ham and his first season with United. Also, on current form his place in the Argentina squad for the World Cup has got to be in jeopardy but seeing as he is Maradona's mate he will probably still get picked regardless. |

Everyone who knew Tevez for what he was new Sir Alex was vindicated months ago...Tevez is not and never has been worth anything close to 25/30 million..never in a million years and anyone thinking otherwise is deluding themselves...id say 15 million is about his right price for what he brings to the side apart from the old "work rate and headless chicken routines" of course....the amount of times id hear people defend him and claim he deserved to be in our team becasue he "worked hard" and "tackled alot"....
what a crock of shite!I believe his international record playing for and leading the line for one of the heavyweights of world football reads as...7 goals in 55 appearances....truly shocking...to put that into perspective thats a goal ratio of close to 1 every 8 games! For Argentina!....rubbish....i wont even mention his pultry return for us last season when you take out his mickey mouse cup goals against reserves...cough *5 in 28 league games*... Hes a workhorse and nothing more plain and simple...he chases the ball like an overexcitable puppy after an inflatable and then has no clue what to do with it when he gets it..his first touch is so bad his second is often a tackle attempt...he dosnt score goals...he dosnt create goals...hes got no physcial presence/height to bring others into play like a Drogba etc..hes for all intensive purposes a defensive midfielder playing up front... Hes a decent player but City are now realising just why the more knowledgeable of United fans were not crying into their cornflakes when we discovered we wernt paying 25 million for his headless chicken antics for another 5 years....Thank christ! |

I wont be surprised if someday it emerges that Fergie did not want Tevez at any price. He s extremely over-rated by fans (or let's say a section of the fans) and probably by marketing people who like him because he s always in the news..

SAF will be vindicated if Berbatov has a better season than Tevez's first with us. Around 14 league goals, showing proper chemistry with Rooney and being arguably our second most important attacking player. He can do it, but he has lots of work to do. |

totally for me - had a great first season in terms of effort and grabbing crucial goals but in terms of influence wasn't close to what rooney does for us
second season we saw his true colours - a whinger who, like heinze, wasn't up for fighting for his place and preferred to moan to the media - he became a problem last season and he used the fans affections just to throw it back in our faces when city's millions came on the scene - in terms of performances he scored about 5 league goals which is pathetic i think we made a mistake in offering the 25 million for him - we reallly should have moved in for someone like etoo who can play in front of rooney or berbatov - we need someone pacey to lead the line i feel - tevez wasn't it |
