There's a lot of stressed out United fans...

... on the Caf lately.

The way I see it is that United are a notoriously slow starting team. We have lost out, in what is a nothing trophy. Come the end of the season, your happiness as a fan is not dictated by the Super Cup.

We are still bringing the team together in terms of injuries and suspensions. A lot of people seem to be carpetting Nani and Neville, but that was their first competitive game of the season.

Rooney and Tevez is actually still a budding partnership. They have not featured all that heavily together.

I read the posts on here and can understand the passion, but we are really too fecking early in the season to start making pessimistic proclamations based on the fact that Berbatov isn't signed yet etc etc.

How many points did we have at this stage last season? Give it time.

I agree with you Fee Me, but idiots will always be idiots. The 2006/07 sason is probably the only Season where we have got off to a phenomenal start.

I'm more stressed out at the fact that its coming up to transfer deadline and we've yet to sign a striker....even after we just sold Saha. And judging from last nights performance im not too sure we can compete against Chelsea without that extra option upfront.

i knew a thread like this would appear sooner or later, generalising people's concerns as mere pessimism. The fact is that it's never too early to point out flaws in the system, in fact, the earlier the better; just because it's the start of the season doesn't mean 3pts is any less than 3pts.

Don't know how you can be "stressed" at this stage of the season. This is the relaxing part, doesn't matter too much if you drop points. Come March three points ahead with Liverpool away on Sunday or lcome ast day of the season, must win on a shit pitch, Now that's stress.

I actually hope we've rapped it up or are out of it come the run in this season. I don't know if the ticker could take a third consecutive close title race.

There is a tendancy to massively overblow small set backs. We haven't lost in the league. We lost an inconsequential one-off game that is similar to the Community Shield.

Carrick is still to come back. A lot of players are just coming back into the side after spells out. We still have Ronnie to come back.

Sorry if I seem to be trumpetting a holier-than-thou attitude, but I just reckon that our 'patchy' form is a consequence of the squad not being fully fit.

I don't see any flaws in the system, just a team that needs a bit of time to get into full swing. The international break is coming at a good time.

Or is it? We were gaining some momentum after the victory over Pompey. Now that has to be put on hold as we wait to see who will return unscathed after their international games. Sometimes the break affects the flow of the team and sometimes it does not.

It's not mere pessimism. It's a bunch of dramaqueens.

I wouldn't really say we got much momentum after the Pompey game particularly as we lost to Zenit yesterday even though it is a glorified friendly it's still a loss. Feed me is right when he says the break has come at the right time, we can get some of our players back.

I never like watching United lose a football match, especially when there's an opportunity to win a silverware to add to our cabinet. But then, we got to take circumstances on hand and analyse why we were so poor last night. We probably weren't just interested.

Come Liverpool on Sept 13, we'll see a different United. And when Berbatov signed in the next couple of days, the mood around the caf will no doubt be risen.

I couldn't give a toss about the Super Cup. It's disappointing to have so many injuries at the start of the season yet again though.

I think a lot does hang on whether we can nab a striker before the end of the window. If we don't, I think it's going to be a frustrating season, with great highs but with Chelsea pipping us to the title and Liverpool up there with us. If we do get a striker, we've got a great chance.

People will point to last season, but a) we were lucky that we pulled it off with only two strikers, b) Ronaldo's injured which is massive, and c) Chelsea have abought and now have a proper manager.
