FM is stupid when it comes to United. Play as another team (so United are computer controlled) and I guarantee you that within five years they'll have sold Ronaldo, Nani, Anderson, Rooney and Tevez, bought no one of quality and regularly finish no higher than thirteenth in the league.

If we're only in £7,000,000 worth of debt, then what's all the fuss about? That's nothing!

Not like FM to be so realistic.

See what happens if you take over at Liverpool.

On the same note Liverpool will pay £30 million for a Huntelaar like player and do very well despite their 'lack of money' in real life.

Then again, if you manage United you get Real Madrid inquiries for Ronaldo all the time so its fairly realistic in that way.

I won the league and European Cup with United in my first season, which makes me immense, right?

United are pretty fucked up though, half the players want to fuck off elsewhere.

The original creators of FM are Everton fans. The versions they released around 93-94 always ended up with Everton becoming a super power after 3+ years in the game. I had a look at their website back then trying to figure out why, and somewhere on there it said they (or some of them) were Everton fans.

Don't worry, we can offload Ronaldo and Rooney in this case and replace them with Mika Aaritalo and Zlatan Ljubjankic for a combined fee of £240k, generating a profit of about £100m.

This may be true actually, I've won titles with Everton in every version of CM/FM except 03/04 without spending plenty of money really.

In my game Everton are struggling in the championship.

United have just accepted a bid of 4m for Anderson and Nani went on loan to antwerp before being given a free to Boro .

United have just retained the champions league though so not all is bad.

To be fair, Liverpool do recklessly splash out on big players up front. They just put it on the credit card for a later date. 7 months interest free credit Mr Gillette? You'll be lucky!

I don't really play FM but... When I did I didn't win as much as I wanted.

So I'd save the game before a match and reload it when I lost.

Does anyone else do that? Tell me I'm not the only sad one...

You're not. It got quite frustrating and time consuming so I quit.

I've just started a new career at Citeh and I'm now into my third season.

Stadium is now 60k
Training and Youth Training is the best in the World.

But Thaksin keeps accepting offers for my good players, so far he's sold Richards to Liverpool for 23.5 Million, Corluka to Real for £20 Million and Elano to Barcelona for £20 Million.

How the fuck am I expected to build a quality side when that happens?

I keep going into debt despite being £500k in the green in terms of my wage budget.

First season I finished 4th ahead of Liverpool.

Last season I finished 5th behind Chelsea (lost 4-2 on last day of the season away to Portsmouth and was 4th going into that game)

Fucking FM. Thats why I love it

Interesting. In mine Wenger was sacked, Liverpool relegated and Chelsea too went bust.

1st Season with City. Top of the league, and havn't lost a game all season. I've finally cracked the tactics, and feel confident of beating every team. Just beat Arseanal 2-1 away in ther league cup and Liverpool 4-3 away in the league.

------------Hart
Corluka Dunne Richards Ball
----Makoun--Hamsik---
Vaart-----Elano-----Farfan
---------Palacios----------

Give Elano a free role and he is awesome. Palacios is a god, even though his finishing is only 13! Has scored 27 in 24 games!

Van Der Vaart, and Elano are joint top in the assists chart with 11 assists each.

Best game on FM i've ever had.

So what happens to Chelsea when they go bust? They never appear in the game? Or do they go down to the lowest league?

With City, do you have control over the transfers? If Thaksin is selling your players, that must mean you have fuck all control... is that the same with united?

What a stupid game if you can't control your own team.

In my first season I had a team of:

Akinfeev
Corluka Richards Dunne Garrido
Makoun
Bojinov Elano Lucho Menez
Benjani

I was unbeaten until December, but United had won every game.

I went off the boil.

I ran the game hands off for a week once.

The premier ship was full of teams from like League 2 and Blue Square.

The Big Four had been relegated to League 1 and League 2.

It was like 2150, if anyone manages to live that long, let me know if it was prophetic! ;p
